I’m tired of seeing commercials every election season with Candidates lying about each other and their policies. We need a law that prevents them from blatantly lying to the American people so we can make better informed decisions.

Totally agree! Current laws prohibit false advertising by companies and individuals. Why are election candidates exempt from this law? Election ads should not be allowed to falsify info, taking opponents words out of context and falsely representing what was said. Once something is debunked they should be forced to pay for a public retraction, aired for the same amount of time, on the same channels as the original false ad. This penalty would deter lying on ads.

I get so tired of all of the political advertising anyway. TV ads, mailers, texts, etc. There was so much money spent this year on politicians campaigns that could have been used for better purposes! It would be nice if there was a limit on how much THEY could spend each election.

If they don’t attempt to accomplish 100% of what they promise, it should make them ineligible to run again. If they can’t run again then they pay a very steep fine for lying to the public just to gain their vote.
