“97% of tax dollars are being spent with 1% of the companies in this Country. Not one of those companies has created one job since 1980 and many are paying no” to little “taxes”. American Small Business League (ASBL)

33 million Small Businesses are responsible for 90% net new jobs, half the GDP, half the private sector work force, and 90% of exports. ASBL

Put the country on a path to creating more than 25 million new small business jobs over the next five to ten years by:
complying with the 1953 Small Business Act and giving small businesses 23% of governmental contracts. Increase this from 23% to at least 35% (because small businesses make up a large portion of the economy).
giving woman owned small businesses a more fair and equitable share of government spending through a meritocratic process. (women comprise 51% of the population and own 42% of all businesses in America, but they have never received more than 5% of all federal contracts and spending. For the past 50 years businesses owned by men received over 95% of all federal spending.)
Restore the Small Business Act budget and staff that were slashed so that small businesses can receive the legal requirement of 23% of governmental grants. Change this from 23% to at least 35%.
Protect small businesses from predatory lenders.
Protect small business owners from private equity.
Redirect the National Economic Council to protect small business and free our economy from the corrupt merger between state and corporate power.

Policy is based on ASBL and Kennedy proposals. See links for further details.
