Single issue bills

Single-issue bills should be a new policy in the United States because they promote transparency, accountability, and focus in the legislative process. Currently, large, complex bills often contain multiple unrelated provisions, making it difficult for lawmakers and the public to fully understand or scrutinize what’s being passed. This can lead to “pork-barrel” spending or controversial items being tucked into essential legislation, forcing lawmakers to accept unfavorable measures to pass critical laws.

By adopting single-issue bills, each piece of legislation would be limited to one topic, making it clearer what is being voted on and encouraging more honest, informed debate. It would also reduce the influence of special interests and political trade-offs, as unrelated issues could no longer be bundled together. This could improve public trust in government by making the legislative process more straightforward and aligned with the specific concerns of voters.

I whole heartedly agree. But, I believe there should also be some kind of time frames attached.

I agree and there should time frame to vote on each bill instead of party leaders holding back bills they don’t like.
