Serious Repercussions for Contractors Defrauding the government

For reasons unknown I’m not allowed to add U.S. General Services Administration as a tag. Puzzling….

This year I received a provisional job offer from a government contractor. I was told that if they are awarded the contract in a months time I will be called to start work shortly afterwards. After two months they tell me they were awarded the contract but are waiting for funding from the government still but we would definitely be starting work the following month. At four months I contacted them to find out the status and nobody could give me any answers. At five months I discovered the USA Spending website and did my homework. This contractor was awarded the contract the first month when I was initially interviewed. They received funding the following month (3 months ago at this point in time).
Just after 5 months I received a rejection letter from them. When I got their recruiter to respond to an email he lied and said they never received any funding. At this point they had been given over $17 Million.
I contacted my congressman and explained it all to him.
No reply from him but two weeks later one of this contractor’s subcontractors gets raided by the FBI for defrauding the government.
Not sure if this was related to my contact with my congressman or not.
Now two months after the raid both the contractor and the subcontractor are still on the awards list and still receiving millions of dollars. Seems whatever slap on the hand they received didn’t change anything at all. Both companies are still recruiting for the same bogus positions I applied for and was given a job offer for. Their scam is still running today.

Contractors defrauding the government need to lose their contracts period. Additionally they should be forced to repay funding given to them and be blacklisted forever. Honestly they ought to be sued out of existence.

The corruption going on is unimaginable.
In a past federal contracting role I inquired about why were rebuilding the same system 4 times over and over inside of 3 years. I was told it was so they could justify their budget and demand more money each year.

Whatever oversight there is, is obviously being bought off. How else can you explain stuff like this?

It has to end. These contractors need to be held accountable in the strictest way and need to be subjected to real repercussions if they are found to be defrauding our government and squandering our tax dollars.
Enough is enough!

Additionally, several of the subcontractors being given award money for the same contract are project management companies specializing in managing offshore resources and development teams.
So this particular contract which is a cybersecurity project impacting all federal agencies looks to be farmed out to foreign workers in other countries. What could possibly go wrong?
