Safer patient to nurse ratios

We need mandated nurse to patient ratios in order to provide safe effective care to achieve better outcomes for patients in the healthcare system which in turn would trickle down into better overall care and finances for the entire healthcare system. Nursing care should be determined based on acuity of the patient assignment and not the numbers in the building because not all patients fit in the same box. The level of care must be looked at and then that should always determine how many patients a nurse cares for that shift. That keeps the patients safe and the nurse can do an effective safe job.

Hello:

“Studies show that hospitals with lower nurse-to-patient ratios deliver better care and outcomes. This includes higher patient satisfaction, lower mortality, fewer adverse reactions, and shorter stays. Plus, nurses report greater job satisfaction when they can provide better care to fewer patients.” - healthcarousel

An idea backed by studies - fantastic! Also, potentially create, if not already as I haven’t done the due diligence on this but incentivize through education and/or positions to attract and recruit more nurses. This ratio would benefit that recruitment so more caring, compassionately qualified, and personable nurses can rise higher.

Nursing is a lovely job. Need the marketing and incentives to desire more quality employees to seek this area of employment.

Great job on presenting this!

MAGA MAHA!
