Restrictions on Private Equity - Important, please read

Not sure what section this should go in or what language to use as a policy, but we need to do something about private equity. They are quickly putting a complete stranglehold on every aspect of our lives: Americans, businesses, housing, and about every sector of our economy. They come in with the intent to destroy to make themselves money while leaving destruction in their wake.

I’d love someone smarter than me to craft language around prevention of this as I don’t know where to start. If you don’t know what private equity is doing to America, American businesses, and our economy, I beg of you, do your research. They are destroying America and the American dream.

When you wonder why the quality of your favorite chain restaurant or quality of a product you bought went down, why a seemingly good company self destructs, or why hospitals are understaffed and overpriced, it is likely because private equity bought in and started to reduce quality, cut pay, jobs, service, etc so they can suck it dry and leave it broken and then walk away with the money.

Please read what they are doing to hospitals, nursing homes, utility companies, schools, small business franchise owners, daycares,….the list is endless. Their job is to go in, destroy and suck dry all the money they can, then walk in five years leaving a wake of destruction behind.

Restricting this alone would touch on so many problems and help the economy in so many ways. Every single American, outside of private equity bros themselves, should support this because I promise you, they are destroying this country. Every American, left, right, or middle is being negatively impacted by this. This is literally a national emergency. Please, please do a deep dive and learn about this and start contacting your Congress members or they will destroy this country.

Final note: this is NOT anti-business, the opposite, in fact. They are destroying our businesses, big and small and we need to stop them.

Thanks

I agree this is a huge problem. I posted a partial solution here:

Maybe these proposals should be merged? You put in a lot more work describing the problem.

I’m not sure how the merging works? But happy to do so if you would like.
