The 2 largest 2nd amendment violations in the history of this country are the National Firearms Act and the Gun Control Act of 1968.
The NFA was originally enacted in 1934. Similar to the current NFA, the original Act imposed a tax on the making and transfer of firearms defined by the Act, as well as a special (occupational) tax on persons and entities engaged in the business of importing, manufacturing, and dealing in NFA firearms. The law also required the registration of all NFA firearms with the Secretary of the Treasury. Firearms subject to the 1934 Act included shotguns and rifles having barrels less than 18 inches in length, certain firearms described as “any other weapons,” machine guns, and firearm mufflers and silencers.
House Resolution 17735, known as the Gun Control Act, was signed into law by President Lyndon B. Johnson on October 22, 1968 **banning mail order sales of rifles and shotguns and prohibiting most felons, drug users, and people found mentally incompetent from buying guns.
House Amendment 777 to H.R. 4332, made it illegal for anyone to transfer or possess a machine gun, with some exceptions. The exceptions include lawful possession of a machine gun before the amendment took effect, or possession by the United States or a state.
Machine guns should not be regulated. Neither should suppressors which are a literal safety device and are not regulated in most of Europe.
The right of the people to keep and bear arms SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED
