Repeal the 22nd Amendment

We might have gotten 3 terms of Obama then. Sounds like a nightmare. No thanks.

We have a representative republic. The people elect their representatives and entrust them to vote accordingly. If they donā€™t, vote them out.

I fully endorse and support a maximum of 2 terms for a president. The precedent was set by Washington, the father of our country. He was a noble, Christian man. He strenuiously and repeatedly told his supporters, who once urged him to become king, that we must resist royalty, emperors and dictators. Thatā€™s what our founders risked their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor to escape.

Trump can legally run for office in 2028. The law states that a president cannot run for more than 2 consecutive terms. Meaning his first consecutive term will be in 2028, if elected.

The 22nd Amendment is clear - No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice - the word ā€œconsecutiveā€ is nowhere in the text, so Trump is not eligible to run in 2028.

There are some states that use consecutive terms for term limiting the Governor, and we have seen abuses of that, but at the Presidential level it is 2 and done.

This is a republic not a democracy!! We vote for people to make decisions for us. Thatā€™s why you need to do your homework before voting ama possible. Donā€™t just vote party line.
