A human being should have the full protection of the law and rights of liberty, from the moment of conception, through all phases of development until death.
Once someone is alive, they are protected by the constitution.

I must Disagree. A human happening perhaps but not a full being until born. There’s something so fundamental about that transition that it’s worth creating an extra category and amending the constitution if necessary to have it apply. I’m all for considering and recognizing and celebrating the inherent humanity[1] of a preborn, but it needs a distinct set of rights unlike those used for postborn individuals. Humane treatment, absolutely, but not individual rights until it has become an individual apart from its mother.
The existence of a pre-birth human cannot be proven without invasion of bodily privacy to collect evidence. Therefore everything about about medical privilege, privacy, and consent should supersede the definition of there being an individual human life.
I would concede that perhaps we could draw the line at the (consensual) public announcement of an unborn child meaning there would then be a presumptive human being with all the rights a child has (which is distinct from the rights an adult has).
i believe there is a unique soul involved with personality and ability to communicate heart to heart during gestation, maybe even before conception. I’ve experienced it with my own children so i take it as real, but it’s definitely metaphysical, and it feels inherently inappropriate to let government reach into the metaphysical. There are different rulers for the spirit than for the flesh. ↩︎
This is the abortion debate. You want people who have abortions to go to jail for murder bascially. If you want this changed you need to evangelize people. It’s not going to be handled on the federal level. That’s why they gave it back to the States.

A fetus is a developmental stage of a human being, from the moment of conception, cells divide into a zygote, fetus, infant, toddler, adolescent, teen, adult, senior citizen… all stages of a human being. The most vulnerable and innocent of our species, you don’t want to give a voice to. You want to treat like a parasite.
Furthermore, we have noninvasive methods like ultrasound to determine what’s inside you. If you don’t want to have babies, that’s fine. It’s still illegal to murder a human… and that applies to all humans, no matter where you want to draw the line. Just because you think you found a loophole, doesn’t mean it’s real.
