While tech companies (social media platforms in particular) are quick to label news as false and remove it from their platform, they appear to have no problem accepting advertising revenue from companies that scam the most vulnerable of us.
Google’s YouTube in particular is forever promoting scans to lure the poor and older people into signing up for fake government programs after providing their SSN, DOB, etc., making them vulnerable to ID theft.
Scope & other fact checkers that are used by tech companies under other circumstances will identify these ads as fraudulent, but there is no method for reporting ads to Youtube as the is for content.
