There needs to be heavy reform to the way insurance companies require prior authorizations. Though I can see a use for certain controlled substances, the current state of requiring a prior authorization for life changing and even life saving medications and procedures has done nothing but line the pockets of insurance companies while simultaneously putting millions of Americans in to debt and keeping them in unnecessary poor health.
Furthermore the tax of time and energy and funds spent on medical practitioners trying to fight for their patients is unacceptable.
The current state of prior authorizations is a burden to every citizen and beneficial only to the executives in insurance companies.
