Our community in Bristol, Indiana, has the opportunity for a $1 billion data center, but the two electric utilities, Nipsco and AEP, will not commit to supporting the project because they cannot. They only have enough power for 3 data centers between them, and there are 40 data center projects in their territory.
My policy proposal is urgent small nuclear power station implementation that can support data centers. Rolls Royce has small modular nuclear power station designs that I understand are perfect for such applications. Deregulate and warp speed the approval of these systems for data centers while maintaining safety.
