Overturn Citizen's United: Elections Should be Funded by The People, Not Corporations

Citizen’s United has no place in our government. President Theodore Roosevelt saw the harms of it when he passed the Tillman Act of 1907. The 2010 Supreme Court’s decision in the Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission case was a disgrace to our democracy. The Supreme Court’s decision enables Corporations and other outside groups to spend unlimited funds on elections. Corporations are not people; they have ulterior motives, and use their money to influence politicians in favor of corporate interests instead of the PEOPLE’S INTEREST. Politicians are supposed to serve the people and elections have become more corrupt ever since that 2010 decision.
