National Voter ID Law

I totally agree however we additionally need to eliminate our current voting machines. I personally have experienced with the ES&S equipment. They are vulnerable in multiple ways and so happen to be the most widely used voting machines in our country. In fact they’re used around the world.
My wish list would also include Election Day as a holiday.

Voter ID is an absolute MUST. Also, I have no confidence at all in using voting machines… Going back to paper Ballots is essential.

I was at UCI in election night. HUNDREDS of not thousands of provisional ballots being handed out to college students. If they cared so much to stand in line for 4 hours, they should have registered to vote in a timely manner.

Best all round solution for this current election system. The complicated part of all of this is the states rights involved in elections.

“I know alot of minorities, none are as stupid as you make them out to be. They all got drivers licenses as easy as I did.”

This is an anecdotal fallacy

Personal experiences or isolated examples (anecdotes) to draw a broad or sweeping conclusion. Using handful of examples to argue that something is generally true, when it may not be representative or reliable enough to support such a conclusion.

No evidence of fraud? Its been proven multiple times.

The Heritage Foundation tracks voter fraud and even after tracking cases for years, the overall number is very small. They examined hundreds of cases of voter fraud over several decades (including different types of fraud), and found that voter impersonation fraud (the kind that voter ID laws are meant to prevent), occurs at a rate of about 0.00003% to 0.0002% of all votes cast in U.S. elections. It is a statistically insignificant issue in terms of the number of votes affected.

Texas and Florida also have reports that show voter impersonation fraud is virtually nonexistent.

A report by the U.S. Election Assistance Commission in 2017 found no widespread voter fraud, including voter impersonation fraud, in any election.

If voter ID didn’t work, why is Id required for so many things? Why will it only not work for voting?

Voting is a fundamental right in a democratic society and the U.S. Constitution protects it. As a right, it is different from a privilege (such as buying alcohol or boarding a plane) Voting is meant to be inclusive and accessible to all eligible citizens, not just those who have certain forms of identification.

Voting a universal right that applies to all eligible citizens and its administration must be designed to minimize barriers and ensure that no one is unfairly excluded. If voter ID laws create a barrier that prevents eligible citizens—especially vulnerable populations—from voting, that undermines the democratic process. Unlike activities where an ID is required for a specific, controlled transaction (like buying alcohol), obtaining an ID for voting can be costly and logistically difficult for some groups of people.

In some states, getting a government-issued photo ID requires fees (e.g., for the ID itself or to obtain documents needed to apply for the ID, such as a birth certificate). People without the necessary funds may simply be unable to afford these costs. For people living in rural or underserved areas, there may be limited access to places where IDs are issued. People without reliable transportation or those who live in areas with few government offices may struggle to obtain the ID they need to vote. Research shows that low-income individuals, people of color, elderly individuals, and young people are less likely to have an ID that meets voter ID requirements. This is because these groups may face challenges in terms of access to transportation, time off work, or financial resources to obtain an ID. As a result, voter ID laws disproportionately affect marginalized communities.

How about those 15million votes that suddenly disappeared now that mail in voting wasnt pushed like it was in 2020?

The claims are unfounded.
Votes from Tuesday’s presidential election are still being counted, so any comparison with previous races would not be accurate. In addition, election officials and agencies monitoring the vote have reported no significant issues with Tuesday’s election. Claims of widespread fraud in 2020 have been debunked countless times.

The last part of your statement is biased and not worth responding to

Your premise is flawed in too many areas to respond here. Disenfranchisement my ass.

I don’t believe a Democrat has been legitimately elected in our country in quite some time. The day we took voting “online” was the day we lost our true representative form of government.

ID for Both Registration and Voting

  • Registration requires proof of residence and a REAL ID-approved ID. A REAL ID with an address will satisfy both requirements if it is unexpired and has an accurate/current address.
  • Registration will close 30 days before the election. Challenges SHALL be permitted up to and including 48 hours before the election, and at all other times outside of Election Day.
  • Voting shall occur in-person on a single day, using paper ballots only (no exceptions for pandemics, war, etc.).
  • ID shall be required to vote. No provisional ballots will be allowed under any circumstances. [Go get your ID and return to vote—no problem].
  • Absentee ballots must be requested and turned in to the proper polling location with ID. Voters who no longer maintain residence in the U.S. shall vote in the state of their previous residence. Expatriates shall vote in person at an embassy and may mail their “national ballot” to an embassy to be added to the popular vote count of the electoral college victor only. It shall not weigh into the electoral vote count of any state.
  • Secret ballots: Ballots will provide complete traceability but must still be cast in secret. That secrecy shall be maintained unless a proper challenge is raised in a court of proper jurisdiction.
  • Election challenges: Any interested party with a reasonable chance of winning a challenge shall be given their day in court based on the merits of the case. No court SHALL dismiss any election challenge case without due process on the merits.
  • The courts shall have the power to appoint a special master to trace votes to their source for confirmation of ballot integrity (see inspiration and reasoning behind this law: MCC, AZ).
  • Judicial review: Alterations or amendments to existing election law SHALL NOT be permitted after an election has taken place. Cases may be filed, but they will only affect future elections, subject to legislative approval. Minor time extensions for inclement weather or other similar force majeure reasons may be approved by the judiciary.
  • The Secretary of State (SOS) or similar roles shall not alter or refine election law. The SOS may seek clarification or publish operating manuals, but these shall be subject to approval by the state legislature. All revisions, clarifications, etc., must be concluded within 90 days of an election to take effect in the current election cycle.
  • Political pollsters shall reveal, as candidates for office are required to, their funding sources to the FCC. They must also disclose any political party affiliations or sources (e.g., “fake news”). Pollsters must also disclose the fundamentals, demographics, and margin of error (MOE) of their samples, based on good faith. Severe fines and penalties, including imprisonment and/or fines, will be levied if this is done in bad faith.
  • Voting records shall be archived for 3 election cycles and digitally stored indefinitely thereafter.
  • All voting records shall be owned by the people. No SOS, poll worker, or other official may withhold true and accurate copies of these records, except for traceability information. Any disputes regarding the traceability of records or the release of such information will place the burden solely upon the district polling place to be adjudicated in a court of proper jurisdiction.
  • All voting records handled post-election certification by the government shall require a FOIA request, which will be adjudicated by a court of proper jurisdiction.

Those that have served in and curerently serve in the United States military are required, by law, to swaer and oath to protect and defend the United States Constitution. Yet one too many strangers come to this great nation to suck it dry of its resources, and rape, murder, and pillage its citizens under the pretense of wanting to be a citizen of America, all the while violating the U.S. Constitution. The National Voter ID Laws, The Immigration and Nationality Act and the National E-Verify MUST BE ALL ENFORCED if America is to survive.

I think it has to go further than just an ID. We need a standardized voting system for Federal elections. As I type this CA and AZ are both creating ballots.

NO ID NO vote. Provisional votes are votes that those in charge of counting can pick through to get more votes for their candidate. Also we need a way to view our votes online so we can be sure it was counted correctly.

We’re electing the people who will make decisions… so take it seriously.
Just tossing out what seem to be good ideas to me anyway…

US Citizens Only. Any Voter. Any Candidate. Any Election.
Election Day == National Holiday = Free Public Transportation == Class I (Passport equivalent/RealID) ID
Early or Election Day In Person voting. Paper Ballots, chain of custody, retained as evidence.
Any digital election data also digitally signed by responsible party.
All digital modifications traceable to individual, not global ‘admin’ accts, logged.
VVSG 2.0+ Certification for ANY election equipment

Some sort of remote voting will have to exist, but should be restricted to people who can not vote in person, on application.

Perfect.

Yes Voter ID is a Must and Stiff penalties for those who Cheat in any Way… I might add I’m a Programmer with a degree working in the Financial Arena. All all my coworker in the business are like me, No Computer Voting, they are to easy to hack. We Need Only Paper and 1 day to Vote/Count, No Exceptions and 24/7 Guards to prevent Midnight Drops for Cheaters.

Why not issue a serial number to every voter and ballot as well to prevent fraud? If the recorded numbers don’t match then it’s a fraudulent vote.

Let’s make it so that a State Issued ID card/Driver License/Learner Permit is all that is necessary to show proof of citizenship to vote, by offering it as an option on every state in the union for citizens to get the “Real ID” markings on their State Issued ID card/Driver License/Learner Permit. Otherwise make it a requirement for those that choose not to upgrade their citizenship status in their State ID card or driver license/learner permit, to show a valid US passport or their original birth certificate as proof of citizenship in order to vote.

I agree on this, but better yet, it could be your State ID/Driver License number, which is easy to track and verify for accuracy on the spot.

That’s the most fair way if a citizen doesn’t have ID … However, with great blessing comes great responsibility … and as an AMerican we have all been bless to live in the best county in history. Therefor if someone wants to vote; then they need to get a VOTER ID. As all Americans should have. This process can be free by the state in which you live. All one must due is show up get their photo taken or have a mail in process like the Passport offices . If you are active military a military ID is sufficient as voter ID. At some point people must assume the responsibility of the rights given freely to all Americans and PROTECT THEM.

There should be a voter ID system created based on a persons social security number, address, date of birth and US citizenship. Perhaps a US passport ID number could be merged with this new voter ID. This new voter ID should be the same nationwide. If we base this new voter ID on a social security number and the person passes away (death certificate have SS#) there should be a way to void the voter ID immediately to avoid the deceased from voting in our elections.

Anything about voting that involves the mail is too open for fraud. No mail-in ballots. … Only absentee voting should be military overseas. Otherwise you should have planned your vacation or business trip for a different time. … Also, don’t trust electronic voting. Too easy to hack into. … Government IDs aren’t scary or problematic for getting on an airplane, renting a car, applying for a loan, etc. That’s a cop-out. IDs are an absolute MUST. … Voting on a weekend seems OK. Judging by the voter turnout from this 2024 election, not sure 2 days would be enough.

No Digital ID’s. Physical Identification!

There are way too many concerns with digital ID (Real ID). Privacy, vulnerabilities, Government overreach, Mass surveillance, misuse of personal data to name a few.

No Voting machines or tabulators! Paper ballots, same day voting, hand counting & physical Identification cards.
