Use medical staff for each area of medicine to find medicare fraud and abuse. Example, have an ultrasound technologist show DOGE staff where there are abuses in that sector. I raise my hand because It is HUGE! Staff from all sectors of medicine who are in the trenches can expose the fraud. It needs to be exposed by the worker, it isn’t seen by non medical personnel.
Very nice suggestion. What you essentianly call for is a group of SMEs (Subject matter experts) to assist groups of assigned DOGE teams to scour through some of the largest heathcare payment systems/companies in search for blatent fraud. And who in America would frown upon this suggestion, given the amount of money flowing these corridors? I applaud the idea! We need to root out the corruption within our medical industry, and your policy proposal is a good beginning.
You want to eliminate entirely NPs and PAs since they lack training, they end up misdiagnosing more, performing unnecessary biopsies, labs, images, antibiotics, narcotics, poor quality specialty referrals, etc. they expand access to low quality expensive care that only the employers profit off of.
There aren’t enough physicians to get rid of ARNPs and PAs.
Why are you calling them an “ARNP?” There is nothing “advanced” about their training, that’s all marketing.
You are correct, they provider greater access to care but it also leads to ballooning costs because their poor training and worse outcomes compared to seeing a physician.
