Proposing that there be a cap on how much is required to rent a house, apartment, condo, etc. For example in many places it is required for have AT LEAST 3x rent to even qualify. As prices of rent have soared it’s nearly impossible to rent without a second or even third person or second or third job. A cap of 2x the rent OR a particular fair qualifying yearly income rate would benefit many people.

totally agree with. I live in the state of Florida and last year DeSantis rook away the 2x income for rentals. Replace it with 3x income with make rentals so high its impossible to find a decent place to live. I live of of SSDI and alimony my monthly income put me in a position that i can barely afford anything. Currently im in a 600 sq apt at 1194.00 a month plus additional fee water, trash, rental insurance and pet fees also administrative fees as well. All said a done my rent average is 1350 this is absolutely leaves me barely enough to pay the rest of my bill, buy my food, pay my Drs and pick up my medication. Please reverse this to 2x rent income. I might be able to move from this very small apt into a small house rental with a yard for my dogs
