Rent Cap for the benefit of all

There should be a rent cap, that the max amount no matter what, will never exceed $1,200. In addition to that, people should not pay extra for their pets. There is too much money being asked for when pets do nothing but sleep, eat, run around. Or if there must be pet rent payment, it should not be more than $10. We need to make housing more affordable so our citizens can afford even just a studio apartment. It should be like this strictly below :

Studio apartment : $350-$400
One bedroom : $500-$700
Two bedroom : $600-$800
Three bedroom : $900-$1,200

I know this would benefit and help MANY of us in the country!

We do need a way to curb exorbitant rent prices but I don’t know if an absolute cap is the best way. This is a hard sell. Banning the owning of single family homes by large investment firms and foreign nationals, rewarding people who buy homes that they actually live in, and disincentivizing people who buy houses just to flip them with more taxes would be a better first step.
