If we must have an income tax, I believe that we the people should vote on how that money is spent by the government. The government should not get to decide what they’re using our hard earned dollars for without telling us what they’re thinking, especially since they don’t always choose what’s in our best interest. It seems like we’ve been spending lots of taxpayer dollars on wars and other issues overseas and not enough on fixing problems within our own borders. I’d be happier if I knew that my money was being used to make something better for me and my fellow citizens.

I agree. Especially since there have been many times when tax money is lost and the government can’t give an answer to what it was used for.
