Pass a bill declaring that any individual who illegally enters the United States forfeits any future path to US Citizenship and are immediately eligible for deportation. To become eligible for future consideration for US Citizenship, such illegal immigrants have to voluntarily leave the country or be removed through a legal deportation process, serve a 10 year ban on reentry into the United States, pay a fine no less than $5000 and apply to return to the country legally.
Yes that sounds great making the ilegal entry laws much stricter
I’d consider altering this idea by having two types of bans. For those who have been repeat offenders the lifetime ban Plus $50,000. For those who have provably not tried before a one year band and $10,000. The odds of actually extracting any money from someone from the foreign country is probably uninformed. But if they don’t pay that $10,000, then they wouldn’t be allowed to come across legally again.
Although my vote was for republicans, let’s slow the roll and take this back for a minute. Please, I’m begging the Trump administration to hear us!! Just because I voted for this party does not mean I fully support these immigration policies. I think all of the documented immigrants that have been paying into taxes, have done paperwork to at least be working here legally are honestly trying!! Most were brought as kids, let them stay here. Especially those who are married and have kids of their own here. Fix the process so it’s not so hard for these people to obtain citizenship. The ones that have been here for 10 plus years, leave them alone too. Give them the chance. They have already been here contributing to America. Help them get on the pathway to citizenship. We can’t just go on a mass deportation spree. It is not morally correct. It’s the right thing to do!! Dangerous criminals, I get it and am in full support. It’s scaring everyone and we have to understand. The one that have came here in the last few years, yes I agree, they must go back and file proper paperwork and wait for their turn. But the ones who are established here, wanting to be here, not committing dangerous crimes, please, I beg you all to leave these people alone. Again, they have been here contributing in some way. It’s time to tighten up the process and patch up the loop holes on this process. Thank you for the chance to speak my mind! I believe the Trump administration will do the right thing. God bless!
If they are established, have started the legal process and have NO crimes on the record I might be ok, but they still broke the law coming in illegally and there needs to be accountability for that. Perhaps a stiff fine or community service.
Alma, I like several parts of this plan. Please see my post for Deportation of Illegal aliens as well. I am trying to incentivize these illegals to deport themselves saving taxpayer money.
This is a good idea, but one question I would have for this would be how could they enforce it? Let me elaborate, there are thousands upon thousands of people that cross the border every single day and I lived down by the border for 15 years of my life. I have seen and went to school with so many people that had family members who crossed the border illegally. Again, I do agree with what you are saying, but since there are so many people that cross all the time how would they keep up with it? Once Trump is sworn into office, I know that we will hunker down and make sure that the borders are secure, but that doesn’t stop every single person crossing illegally.
introduce entry and exit control. all non citizens must go through passport control while entering or exiting US soil
I like the idea of giving illegals who are productive members of American society a chance to leave voluntarily so they can return legally. If they leave voluntarily, the fine and 10 year ban should be waived or minimized to 6 months or 1 year. If they have to be found and deported, the 5K/10Yr rule would apply. If they have been here 10+ years, working and becoming Americans, both the fine and ban should be waived and a path to citizenship opened.
If they are felons, they should be exported with a permanent ban. If they are criminals, but non-aggressive misdemeanors, a five-year ban and a fine.
If the rules are well-defined, there must be a common ground on which Americans can agree.
You enforce it with heavy artillery. If you illegally cross, you get treated like a terrorist. May not be a popular solution but, the illegal crossings would drop QUICK.
Yes, a common ground that helps us all is very important moving forward. We can’t keep preaching that they committed a crime when illegally crossing when we allow and vote for someone with a criminal record for a position of power. It is hypocrisy. And I don’t mean to be disrespectful when I say it, but it has to be taken into consideration.
I believe in immunity for those with daca and green cards and temp residency. Those people are trying to become a citizen and are currently waiting for the next step towards citizenship. They are doing the right thing! I believe in immunity for parents that came here 10 plus years ago. Of course with that being said, there would have to be little to no severe criminal record. I also think denaturalization is insane. Leave them alone!
This whole topic is very sensitive and scary for those who only know America as their home. It is sad to see how much fear and damage it is causing to these families. It’s causing such a divide in the American people and I know it is all a lot easier said than done but I’m truly praying for a common ground here for everyone!
Yes having to pay some fees is respectable. Community service even too. Even collateral? There’s many options to serve justice and consequence! I just think that we cannot keep preaching that they broke the law when people in power have broken the law too. It’s not a tit for tat because I understand people in powerful positions have served their consequence as well but we don’t need to deport them nor ban them.
Yea this is exactly Trump’s stance tbh . Watch the rogan interview and his clips on immigration.
Like every other country.
This is just normal for most countries.
This is commonsense and thank God with Trump back in the Whitehouse, we can now make sure our immigration laws are followed.
I would like us to consider the illegal immigrants that have been here for 5+ years making ITIN payments with no criminal records. There are a lot of these people that work hard, started families, and just don’t have the money to hire an attorney.
I agree. Thank you for this.
the fine should also include repaying any assistance that they have received while being in the country illegally. Fair market value of their rent, food assistance, etc.
