Government caps Rent based on minimum wage

Rent capped based on minimum wage.

How this would work
A cap would be placed by government to the states that state is not allowed to charge more than said amount(decided by government ), multiplied by minimum wage (decided by state) for rent.

Example government caps by 100 X of minimum wage.

What this would like is,
$16 a hour minimum wage X 100 governments cap = $1,600 rent

State would not be allowed to price rent over $1,600, or no more than 100 X the minimum wage.

While this would be the equivalent of a 25hr work week at $16hr minimum wage, it’s still affordable with a 40+ hr work week. And once an individual moves up their career ladder say to making $30hr they’ll still only have to pay $1,600 in rent. Allowing them to afford rent and put their extra money for investment and retirement etc.

This way minimum wage is livable and rent is affordable for all.

I love this idea. Cap based on states minimum wage! Gives families the ability to actually save!

Scott Bessent to serve as Treasury Secretary and saying minimum wage shouldn’t be raised is one of the MOST FRUSTRATING things about being aligned with conservatives. I have lived in that vortex and it shouldn’t be allowed. It’s inhuman.
