Give Doctors Immunity to practice Ethical Medicine Without Fear from the DEA

Under S. Rept. 106-299 - THE PAIN RELIEF PROMOTION ACT, as well as International law, pain relief must be granted. Yet here in America, the #1 reason for veteran suicide is pain? Suicide in the chronic pain community (CPP) is up over 400%
This is discrimination against one health care condition.
Right to life and liberty and freedom? CPP can not travel outside of the area where doctor and pharmacy are located because they can not see a doctor in another state while traveling and get Opioid medications even if they have been on these medications for years. So prisoners of their state.
Pharmacies are over riding physicians, refusing to fill legitimate prescriptions. This raising another hurdle to pain treatment. This is settled law. On the pharmacy declaration of ethics " physician is responsible for informing the patient of adverse outcomes or side effects, pharmacy is responsible for labeling. Not over riding physicians. Yet this is happening regularly.
HIPPA is being intentionally violated for CPP because only narcotics are traced in the system and CPP often require narcotics for pain relief. Narxcare has no patients signed and acknowledged rights to have access to personal, medical information that is supposed to be protected by HIPPA.
Every physician that has been hauled to court by the DEA and arrested for " over prescribing" need to have their case reviewed by a non partial entity and true non partial justice needs to be granted to these physicians whose crime was caring for their patients. DEA do don’t have licensed medical physicians to justify the arrest of these doctors. Paid " expert" witnesses such as PROP members should not count as they are paid to speak out against Opioids. Medicine is not an exact science as subjects are never the exact same. Medical Freedom is needed in America the " land of the free" to engulf all patients with various diseases and disorders. Chronic pain care has been singled out and vilified at the expense of real people’s lives. Yet to this day, alcohol has killed way more people than Opioid medications and it is available on every street corner. Corrupt money is being made at the expense of CPP and it has gone on long enough. Chronic pain is a healthcare condition and should be treated by doctors not government entities of punishment.

How can a doctor do his job when he is in fear of losing his license from a non doctor who has no idea about medicine. Opiate medication has been around for a long time and has been a true blessing to those who nĂ©ed it. It has been used for centuries and does less damage to the body than tylenol or ibuprofen. Think about that! We are being asked to take something less effective and more damaging because doctors are afraid of the government’s overreach. I and my husband suffer daily because about 10 years ago some people found a way to make money by calling pain patients, drug addicts. Doctors became concerned they would get in trouble and pain clinics and treatment centers popped up all over. The family doctor quit treating thier patients and these new “specialists” began to make money. The pain clinic started pushing Saboxone, and non FDA approved injections (big money). Somehow pain patients ended up with more pain, less relief and less money as requirements for injections, drug tests and monthly visits became required to get less or no medication after seeing a "pain specialist. Doctors are afraid of the government closing down their clinics. Sadly, I agree with closing down some of these clinics and instead allowing the family doctor who treats the whole patient to prescribe whatever and however much medication may be needed for their patient. Doctors are trained to, “First do no harm”, can we say that about the DEA, CDC and FDA?

I am appalled to learn that people in pain are left to suffer without pain medication. I am pain free most of the time. I don’t know if this will be helpful to those of you who are left without pain meds but I injured my foot a couple of weeks ago with much pain and swelling. I have been using DMSO. It is available without a prescription and I am not sure it is general knowledge since the 1980’s, when the FDA didn’t pursue it apparently because it was just too much work to study it and so it was just forgotten. It works for a lot of conditions including pain because it goes directly into the bloodstream. Have any of you suffering in pain tried DMSO? There is a lot of information about it off the main stream. I would appreciate knowing if it has helped any of you. I am afraid to try it for my husband’s heart. God bless you all and I pray for your relief from pain.

I’m sorry your friend became addicted but that shouldn’t mean that we have to punish legitimate chronic pain patients! It’s become the norm now to treat the addict with kid gloves, oh you poor thing let’s get you into treatment, we will take care of you, but the chronic pain patients? The one suffering every day of their lives? Oh your in pain? Take some ibuprofen, you’ll be fine! BS!! Tylenol or ibuprofen for a cancer patient? For someone having a bowel dissection surgery? For burn patients? For someone that has a chronic condition that causes moderate to severe pain everyday? No!! Enough of the madness! Stop making people suffer needlessly! They take their medications as prescribed, they don’t abuse them and are not addicted, they require it to survive and have some quality of life. Get the DEA out of healthcare so doctors are not afraid to prescribe to legitimate patients. Allow them to have medications for pain AND anxiety at the same time! People are dying from pain, from suicide because of pain, from anxiety because of pain! Stop the madness!

Patients are being forced off of safe and effective opioid treatment and onto medications with major side effects that don’t help with pain. This pushes many of them out of the workforce! Please stop this madness!

Also, when a doctor can’t see you for three months, why can they not refer you out to another Doctor Who You do not have to wait three months to see. people with chronic illnesses are dying because they can’t see their doctors immediately.

This is absolutely correct. Everything the govt has told us about opioids is a LIE. The people who are the MOST injured, MOST sick, and MOST disabled are being literally tortured to death. Doctors are being jailed because the government has been captured by a group of addiction doctors who are LYING and the government has accepted their LIES as TRUTH! They have set dose caps when there are patients who have genetic issues that make them pass opioids through their system rapidly and who NEED those high doses! They blamed the rapid raise in the number of deaths beginning in the mid-2000’s on “prescription opioid medications” when that was NOT TRUE! Those deaths are from illicit fentanyl analog compound poisonings, taken by people on a non-medical basis! Patient outcomes were NOT tracked after the agenda to roll out restrictions of access, and tens of thousands of people or more have DIED from medical complications or suicide after losing access to their therapeutic doses! We have notified the Dept of HHS to review the Public Health Emergency declaration in the opioid crisis and to review these FACTS! We plan to SUE in District Court of we do not get resolution!

I have been suffering from crippling anxiety. All of my life only recently started seeking help for it, it has gotten that bad. I’ve tried every SSRISSNI drug there is I’ve also been put on seizure meds, blood pressure meds, which caused severe side effects like psoriasis from lisinopril. Three words doctors do not hear is, I have anxiety. When they actually hear those, they immediately assume your drug seeker. Benzodiazepine may be highly addictive, but they work. Psychiatrist graduated in 1983. I told him if he couldn’t treat my anxiety. I welcome death. The man literally told me good for you. I hope it happens soon. Unacceptable treatment from doctors. I still suffer with crippling anxiety.

My pain didn’t start because I didn’t take care of my body. My pain started because a dumbarse didn’t know how to drive & hit me from behind breaking a vertebrae in my low back. It’s spiriald from there. Apparently you’ve never been in constant shoot yourself in the head type pain, or you wouldn’t be judging chronic pain patients who need opioids for pain . It’s misguided bull crap like what you’re saying thats part of the problem. People like you need to shut up until your better informed about what painful unfixable conditions do your body. Trust me you have no idea what real pain is like. Develop bone spurs or osteoporosis or have a disc slip out of place then Slide backwards, be rear ended & a vertebra broken, or develop an auto immune disease like CROMO once you suffer from one of these conditions without proper pain medications then you can talk about pain & not needing anything for it because knowing what’s it you wouldn’t take even 1 try that for us all & let us know how it goes.

I can pretty much promise you that you didn’t know half of this woman’s story, and yet here you are making judgments about pain patients your basing off of a womans experience that you lost contact with years & years ago. She didn’t get addicted because of 1 opioid prescription. I had 4 sisters 1 brother with the same extremely painful bone conditions that I myself suffer from. If prescription opioid medications were that addictive as the CDC & DEA think and as their fake data shows 2 out of us 5 would have become addicts on one 7 day supply of opioid pain medication. One sister passed from a hear attack at 48 (her dad & uncles passed from
Heart attacks at 48). Two sisters passed from cancer 1 in 2016 and 1 in 2017, the other sister is in remission from throat cancer also diagnosed in 2016, my baby brother had to have neck surgery 15 yrs ago because the vertebra in his neck became paper thin, he was told he’d never walk ago & he proved that Dr wrong he has to walk with a cane. The 3 of us that are left are not addicts or suffer from oud. What we suffer from is uncontrolled unrelenting excruciating pain because the DEA don’t know what they’re doing except for when they get to divide up the drs assets after they are arrested & sent to prison. And because in 2015-16 scientist at the CDC were hoodwinked into believing bullshit lies from Andrew Kolodny and the other clowns at PROP.

My big issue is the supply side of things, and that is not only opioids full agonist, or sch meds only
The quality is another issue. We cannot have ppl taking low quality and partial fills due to stock shortages as a direct result of delegating an inept group to properly manage logistics as important as such! Esp States with existing LAWs on Chronic Pain
Bottom line is this is a FEDERAL issue and EVERY state has to be mandated to give citizens autonomy, informed consent, and ACCESS to substitution therapy, or for obvious medical conditions which can be either/or co comorbidities with working conditions.
