Give Doctors Immunity to practice Ethical Medicine Without Fear from the DEA

The DEA is a corrupt rogue agency and every last one of them has a ton of blood on their hands! They have utterly DESTROYED the lives of so many people, myself included. Many have died from what unrelieved severe, intractable pain does to the human body. It can cause strokes and heart attacks. The DEA have also destroyed the lives of many compassionate doctors who were just doing their jobs and treating patients’ pain. All the while, they do nothing about the illicit street drugs flooding across our borders. But we all have heard the stories of the DEA’s corruption,. The way they interfere with the practice of medicine is illegal – it amounts to practicing medicine without a license – but no one seems to care except for the ones who are affected by this. The DEA commits crimes against humanity with impunity and it has GOT TO STOP.

The time has come to stop chasing doctors and allow them to practice medicine and treat their patients as they would like to without fear of prosecution. The DEA has interfered with the doctor/patient relationship and in turn ruined lives of doctors and innocent and suffering patients. Where were you, DEA for all these abandoned patients of the doctors you shut down. Yes, there are bad people out there but I would say bad doctors are few and far away. Your policies have FAILED just as your war on drugs. There must be other ways to do what you do without innocent people who just want to be normal, and have a life to fall by the wayside.

It is ridiculous that nonmedical people are telling doctors how to treat patients. Big pharma, the government, the dea, etc. Should stay out of the patient- doctor relationship. They are causing extreme harm to those of us who are in chronic pain. Has anyone considered how the rationing of opiods to people with chronic pain are affecting us mentally, physical, emotionally? Why is this even allowed? Illicit illegal drug use is the problem not the chronic pain patient who takes their meds as directed. We have no quality of life any longer and at this rate we will not have quanity of life either. Please someone stop this madness and help us!!!'!

It is illegal for those without a medical degree to practice medicine. Yet that is exactly what is happening. Cancer patients are struggeling to get pain relief. People are having surgery and only being offered Tylenol. This is cruel!! Doctors are scared to treat patients appropriately! This is ridiculous! Now theyre going after ADHD medication too. People seeking legal perscriptions are very rarely the problem. Get the illegal drugs off the street. Stop hurting the people seeking genuine care for pain under the supervison of a doctor with a medical degree. I am a nurse and it is sad and discusting to see how cruel and depraved healthcare is becoming out of fear.

This OP is talking about the DEA going after medical professionals who prescribe opioid pain medication over a made-up 90-MME, which has no basis in science. It has nothing to do with general medical care. Over 2,000 medical professionals are in prison–not for running pill mills–but for treating people with very painful conditions that have no cure or fix. It’s much easier and safer for the DEA to raid a doctor’s office with guns blazing than to go after illegal drug cartels who fight back. Our government has a good scam going, but it’s killing people.

Yes, he completely missed the context.

I am 49 and a chronically ill individual. I have Ehlers-Danlos, POTS, 2 seizure disorders and stage 3A kidney disease. I’m here specifically to try to get the word out that the DEA has reached too far into our health care causing chronically ill individuals like me to not be able to have our pain treated ethically and with a safe supply. In addition to that I’m here to support doctors who are being shut down and sent to prisons for treating patients like me. Under no circumstance should a doctor be afraid to help people like me in fear of losing their license because the DEA has decided to run my health care instead of letting doctors who went to school to learn how to care for patients take the reins. Get the DEA out of our health care. Point blank period!

Please call off the DEA. They have been at war with the shrinking number of doctors who treat the sick and disabled, who suffer in pain because of the government. Leave doctors alone

Agreed! Just because we have chronic pain, it does NOT mean we are addicts or substance abusers! Stop arresting doctors for providing help/relief/opioids as that doctor and patients decide is best for them without fear of being arrested and jailed! The DEA had little business interfering with doctors that practice medicine and alleviate pain. DEA should be worrying about drugs coming over the borders and street drugs. It is imperative that big pharma stops paying off doctors to support their new drugs. Doctors should not be in the pocket of anyone or fear getting arrested for helping patients deal with chronic pain.

And us in intractable pain shouldn’t be refused proper pain control

None of your business what other patients do. I want the government out of my doctor’s office.

The problem is what you’re saying is exactly what’s going on but it’s the Suboxone manufacturers that have everybody in their pocket they’re taking away people’s pain meds and trying to force them on Suboxone instead which is vastly more addictive and exponentially more profitable than the pain meds ever were for the pharmaceutical industry

I live in constant pain, I’m confined to my bed most of the time and all because someone, somewhere, benefits from withholding effective pain medication from Americans who desperately need it. It’s seems strange that dope addicts can get their fentanyl without difficulty, while suffering Americans are treated like criminals. Why is that???

I worked in Healthcare for many years. Behind the scenes the things that doctors would have to go through to get patients tests and treatments were crazy and it’s worse now. I am a chronic pain patient and have been lucky yo find a Dr to help me but his hands are tied with limits , etc. Every month I worry that I will be left in a pickle. Drs go to medical school for a lot of years and specialize. The government is meddling too much, the DEA in particular. They need to focus on the illegal drugs like fentanyl and others and leave medicine to the doctors. I only pray that someone finally hears or pleas and does something before it gets even worse than it is. Let Drs Practice Medicine and reign the DEA in.

I am dying of a very traceable disease and have received no treatment. Liver cirrhosis. Just as an example of what you describe being a little less than that. I also thought when benzos really helped with my anxiety and it did but only after 12 different referrals and the doctor still not wanting to write the script. This was some 5-6 years of fighting. Dying of a painful disease still seems to mean nothing.

Obviously, you do not suffer from intense, unrelenting, chronic, pain, because if you did you wouldn’t make statements like this that you know nothing about. One day you may have the misfortune of finding out just how wrong you are.

Opioid pain medication works and saves lives, the DEA CDC overreach has harmed pain patients and caused so much distrust in our healthcare system. The MAHA decision to look into this is such a glimmer of hope for all the people affected by the harm caused by our government agencies (CDC DEA) to our healthcare system. These agencies are not qualified to make decisions about our health. Please give dr’s the immunity to make decisions and treat patients without fear of unjustifiable persecution. I really hope the Trump administration will resolve this. This is what I voted for!

We chronic pain patients suffer every day because our pain is not being controlled and then we are judged and humiliated at the doctors office when we ask for pain medicine that is FDA approved to control our pain. We are treated like the worst of the worst addicts when we’re not addicts, we just want our pain controlled we suffer, mentally, physically, emotionally And it’s all because the FDA will not stay out of the doctors office and let doctors who go to school for 15 years for this very thing treat our pain anymore. It is time for our voices to be heard and we need people to fight and help us fight for the cause. We are tired of suffering. We need doctors to start fighting for their patients and start treating pain again. Nobody should have to suffer when there is pain medication that can help the pain. Please hear our voices and stop the genocide. We want to be treated normal and have her pain controlled so we can be productive members of society. So please help the cause stand up and fight for chronic pain patients and cancer patients. the time is now please hear our voices stop the suffering stop the abuse and start treating our pain. We have lost too many people to suicide because their pain was not controlled and the sad thing is we shouldn’t have lost anyone in other countries they can get pain medication and some is even over-the-counter, but I just don’t understand why our country wants everyone to suffer? I want to know why an alcoholic can go to a liquor store just about on every corner And that’s their addiction but it’s chronic pain patients and cancer patients. They just need adequate pain medication that is FDA approved were told no you just have to suffer. Take Tylenol loads of Tylenol and ibuprofen. Please hear our voices and stop the suffering and start treating pain.

Absolutely! Doctor should be trusted and given latitude with regard to prescribing! Legitimate Prescriptions are not driving the Overdose crisis, illicit fentanyl is whats driving this addiction crisis.
This is an illicit fentanyl crisis!

I have been in intense pain for over 20 years. It turns out it really was liver cirrhosis from an “accidental” vitamin overdose I did not even know was a thing. Then for 20 years even though I saw up to 3 different doctors every month just about for finally when I get Ascites my PCP says go to the hospital. That’s it. I am going to go but scared to death I will be left to die in pain on a bed there. I can’t understand how/why this can happen to another human being when we have doctors?? Also knowing this is all hell of painful and after finding out you still did nothing. Help me god but unfortunately I need a human being that is also a doctor and I am not trying to be mean, only experience, I do not think those terms are inclusive to each other as they should be. If that makes sense.
