Foreign-purchased land seizure and initiation of federal land sales

The purpose of this policy would be 1) to seize all lands that have been purchased by foreign powers, proxy or direct, and 2) make some federally owned lands available for sale to U.S. citizens.

  1. In seizing the lands purchased by foreign nations, plots would be made available for purchase to citizens or returned to the original owners if the original sale of said lands was done under coercion of any kind. Sales could be based on a priority scale — though, not necessary, with plots should be offered to the homeless and veterans first to aid in tackling the housing crisis for these areas. The land seizure should be returned to the open market for civilian sale and appraisal as is done for any other plot. I hesitate to give an allowance for these sales to include large corporations since it would exclude the everyday man from affording it. However, it has been suggested that an auction style would be suitable and I believe that may be an option.
  1. The continued stranglehold of federal open land expansion is out of control. Millions of acres that are perfectly available for private ownership are currently being kept or gobbled up by the government under the guise of “preservation”. Meanwhile, these spaces are not being managed, either properly or not at all in some cases. This type of land would be particularly appealing for homesteaders and more rural communities who are particularly well equipped to steward these environments in a balanced way.

Edit: I have edited this proposal to include comment suggestions that were common sense and applicable.

Thanks for considering the veterans in this proposal. I’m sure they all would appreciate that. Please take a look at my proposal if you’re interested in helping veterans. Thank you.

You had me until this quote. Homelessness is made worse by the government subsidizing them. And there are plenty of “veteran owned” corporations that would be more than happy to use that status to screw over Americans. If you’re going to confiscate foreign-owned property, it should be auctioned to the highest bidder. Also, the federal government has no legitimate constitutional power to dictate interest rates. If you edited your proposal to mitigate these concerns, I’d vote for it!

Ending unconstitutional federal land-holding is absolutely necessary. The Founders would be appalled at the king-like land-grab the Progressives did in the early 20th Century. It’s completely unconstitutional.

You bring up a good point and I’m going to edit how I worded this. My thought was in seizing the land, it would be returned to the open market for civilian sale like you would normally see on a place like Realtor, not at the behest of the government. What I don’t want is for the land to get seized and then have large U.S. corporations to swoop in and snatch it first. Then we are nearly back where we started just with American based overlords. I do agree with you about the interest rate part, I’ll remove that entirely.

Hello - While not directly related I think our policy to limit Chinese direct access to the US consumer market will resonate with you.

Please consider voting for our proposal!
