Forbid TV drug commercials /and require financial disclosures from doctors

Put advertising restrictions on pharmaceutical companies that are similar to liquor, Tabaco, and gun manufacturers.

As well as institute mandatory financial disclosures for medical doctors. Patients should know if their doctor is making $80k a month from writing the prescription they just wrote for them.

I think this is a great idea. I also think that we should prevent pharmaceutical companies from lobbying doctors, writing papers and having doctors add their names to them as a form of advertisement.

Agreed as well as mandatory financial disclosure for doctors.

can’t wait and hopefully New Zealand will follow suit if we do it and shut at least this avenue for brainwashing clients. There is going to be some serious blowback by the drug companies.

I wholeheartedly agree. The US and New Zealand are the only countries that permit advertising of pharmaceutical drugs directly to customers. Even then, this only started during the second Clinton term in the case of the former.

This feels like a way for pharmaceutical companies to turn doctors into glorified salespeople and encourage customers to become more impulsive. Hopefully these problems are addressed sooner rather than later.

There are multiple dangers arising from advertising pharmaceutical products. The primary concern is that the news media cannot afford to be impartial about big pharma since it is a primary source of income. Hence, we don’t have any news coverage of the millions of vaccine-injured people.

Make sure that banning TV drug ads includes banning vaccine ads.

This is one of Kennedy’s existing issues, it’s already on the to-do list!

I agree this isn’t just about what is said or not said in the ad. More importanly , this would change what we hear on the news. News platforms are reluctant to say anything that goes against the advertisers that sponcer them.

I think attorneys should also be banned from advertising. I still remember when the professional association prohibited the practice.

Our problems with big Pharma began with legislation allowing TV ads for pharma products. This created an unholy alliance between media and big pharma. MSM RESPONDS TO DOLLARS. The general public needs to be protected from pharma manipulation. We also need to revoke licenses of anyone in the medical industry that breaks their oath to do no harm. Whatever happened to medicine meant to cure rather than medicine for profit?

Yes! We must stop selling Americans the idea that they have a disorder or disease and that everything can be treated with “medication”. This is NOT medicine, it is a sales contest.

Joined this group specifically to discuss this topic! No prescription medication should be allowed to be advertised to the public (TV, radio, electronic, billboard, etc). New prescription medicine marketing should only target doctors along with education, trials, side effects, etc. Advertising drugs on TV is where things went wrong because pharmaceutical companies realized they could make more money and bypass the doctor’s personalized healthcare treatment.

Pharma companies and food (poison) companies should not be allowed to directly fund studies used to ground ‘in science’ the use of their products. They create this circular argument that without incredible effort remains hidden from most citizens/patients/customers.

These commercials have never made any logical sense, the person sitting at home on the couch isn’t qualified to evaluate the information being presented and the side effects are blown through like they pulled the micro machines guy out of retirement to speed read them.

Definitely stop drug advertising. They also say in their ads not to take if you are allergic to any of its ingredients. Make a list of ingredients available. I have just gone through a month of hell from being prescribed one of those tv advertized drugs. The emergency room said I was allergic to it. Still not out of the woods - it may have caused damage to my heart.
