I propose that we allow Doge to come in to our state and local governments and audit them as well. We should not be paying taxes on properties we own to feed an overly fat hog. I’m guessing there is just as much waste and fraud at the state and local levels as there is on the federal levels. If we are going to drain the swamp let’s clean up the pebbles along the shore line as well.

I’ve seen a number of reports of individual States doing their own version of DOGE, so that’s already happening. Keep in mind DOGE is not specifically the people, it’s the process.
Likewise with state sovereignty it would not be appropriate for the Federal Government to send in DOGE unless the state specifically asked for them to come.

Strongly agree. This is the logical next step. It will do no good to remove federal level corruption and leave state/county/city governments free to continue their corruption on the American People.
Personally, I would love to see a county-level investigation into county officials who might be receiving illicit funds and kickbacks related to property tax revenue based on FAKE unrealized values that have been reported by county tax assessors as going up every year. This property tax extortion racket needs to be investigated and those responsible for exacerbating the annual confiscation of propery owner wealth should face criminal charges and have their personal assets confiscated for state-wide redistribution of reparations back to property owners.

Beyond yes . . .especially at the local level. Stop into your friendly neighborhood City Council meeting and soak in all the inefficiencies. The ability for counties to drastically increase fees such as property taxes based on their own interpretations needs to be curbed. Goes w/o saying that property taxes need abolished; but point is (especially urban) counties find every way to bloat on the taxpayer dime.

States need their own division for waste, fraud, and abuse. Every state and the fed should have true audits annually and all presidents and governors should have line item vetos with all distributions of tax payer funds accounted for.

I live in Oregon and our state government definitely needs to be audited. We taxpayers are footing the bill for a lot of our elected officials becoming richer and richer. And protesting loudly with fear mongoring to the population. Unfortunately, a good portion of our populace are in fear that the world is coming to an end.

I was treasurer in a small world area and I can tell you there’s corruption in politics even on the smallest of levels.
I also worked at home for 14 years and saw accessors looking in people’s windows which is illegal.

I totally agree with Maureen Tescher. There is probably more fraud and waste in small towns than anyone knows or is aware of. In our small town, there are no audits of the different agencies and especially Federal Grants. These small towns use the money to buy buildings, construct buildings, etc. but they do not have the revenue to do upkeep or maybe just don’t do it?

New Jersey is in the running for the most corrupt state in the US. I’ve been here for all my 60 years, and I’ve never wanted to leave as bad as I have for the past 10. The Garden State needs to be renamed the Garbage State. Just sad & pathetic.

Michael, don’t loose heart. When states violate the U.S. Constitutional rights of the citizens in said states, then there is forced compliance by the Constitution, making contradictory state laws “null and void”. State governments must also comply with the will of their state (U.S.) citizens. It was written that way by our Founding Fathers. We’re good…the federal govt and the U.S. Constitution have our backs when state and county laws grow dictatorial and communistic, like they are starting to become.

I totally agree that the State level should be audited. They receive federal funds so there should be total transparency on where that money goes.
Our property taxes are being high jacked by the crooked politicians in probably every state.
I know in Delaware they are not transparent and they give contracts to their donors and relatives. After all, the Biden crime family runs this state.
We definitely need an audit here.
