We need updated and new energy infrastructure. We can not have a sustainable economic boom without updated and expanded energy infrastructure. We also need to diversify rapidly for national security reasons and economic reasons. When it comes to oil and natural gas, putting ourselves in a position through energy diversification to export more then we use at home would allow us to stay out of foreign wars for petrol reasons and allow us to sustain the economic benefits from exporting necessary commodities.
• Oil refineries that can refine light and sweat liquid gold
• LNG export facilities specifically on the east coast massive market in Southeast Asia
• Nuclear power plant buildout and R&D in smaller easier to build nuclear plants
• Electrical grid needs to double for the electricity needed for AI development
• Research into high speed rail that can transport tonnage, not just people but weight as well.
• Upgraded rail systems
• Upgraded ports
• Larger cargo ships that run on nuclear, we are already capable of doing this because we have nuclear navy ships (this will rebuild our ship building industry as well)
• Solar at a local level in areas where it makes sense like the southwest
• Use the exported oil and gas as leverage to build relations with other countries that have commodities that we need but do not have here (something like a commodity for commodity trade, we both have things that the other needs so working together is a necessity)
We have not built a new oil refinery in decades. The old refineries can only refine crude oil not the oil that we get from fracking which is light and sweat. Energy independence is impossible if we cannot refine that oil at home
