We need full transparency for all votes that take place In the Senate and House. No more secret votes. The voters need to know their representative is making the right decisions based on the desires of their constituents. This also allows voters to hold representatives accountable on Election Day if they have not done their job correctly.
Senators work for the People and the spirit of their position requires them to vote in the Senate for the People.
To both ensure this spirit is transparent and to foster confidence in the Senste, it is imperative that every vote be cast publicly as at the heart of it, it is not the Senator’s vote but the vote of his constituents.

I would go much further. End Secret Voting for ANY Civil Servants Who Create Policy
It’s simple! Decisions that lead to mandates, rules, or laws affecting citizens’ lives should never be made in secret. Transparency in voting records ensures accountability, allowing voters to see if their representatives are acting in their best interests. Open voting fosters trust in government, helps prevent corruption, and reduces the influence of special interest groups. We cannot make informed decisions about those in office—or those running for office—based on objective, verifiable information if we are left to guess their policy positions due to secretive voting or a lack of transparency in their records, including abstaining from a vote. Additionally, it should be extremely easy for the lay person to access the record. Most government websites are a nightmare to navigate. (For those that would say Congress can only create Federal law and each state would have to impose there own requirements, I would argue that it is indisputably unconstitutional for representatives at any level to act in secret.)

Elected representatives should not be able to cast secret votes. They were elected to office to represent us and we should have every right to know/view their votes. Secret ballots render us unable to verify that our elected representatives are voting in favor of what their constituents wanted and hold them accountable on the next election cycle.
