REPEAL THE 16th amendment.
Dismantle the Federal Reserve
We are drowning in debt! Two vehicles with 10% interest. Home mortgage 7% interest. Federal Income Tax, City Income Tax, Real Estate TaxâŚHome Owners Insurance, Car Insurance, Electric bills, water bill, gasoline, food costâŚcant afford health insurance. Hopefully nothing catastrophic happensâŚdrowning fast!
I say this about our state of Pa all the time, end property and school tax, flat tax almost everything⌠@7.25% the state would pull in more revenue and all residents would have more to spend or save. Also i would add, if its new its taxed / used not taxed.
Wouldnât this negatively affect lower income people though? They already donât pay much federal income tax so raising the sales tax on all items may cause them to be paying more than before. Someone in the upper class who might be paying 30%+ in federal income tax would be saving money by only paying higher sales tax. Iâm definitely in favor of a plan like this, but not when itâs just gonna benefit the wealthy and hurt the poor.
The only reason then for the IRS would be to collect the sales tax from the states.
Plus then only those who can afford taxes pay them. If you can only afford food and not luxuries than you essentially donât pay taxes.
But there is no tax on food. So if you are very impoverished you essentially would not pay taxes.
I agree that Fairtax (https://www.fairtax.org/) is a well-thought-through policy and the numbers are practical. From their proposal:
Under the FairTax, every person living in the United States pays a sales tax on purchases of new goods and services, excluding necessities due to the prebate. The FairTax rate after necessities is 23% compared to combining the 15% income tax bracket with the 7.65% of employee payroll taxes under the current system â both of which will be eliminated!
Even though these numbers seem high for a sales tax, it is a number that could work and if you eliminate income tax and employee payroll taxes, you will actually end up financially ahead. Starting with this number also allows us to put this significant change into practice which then provides us with a mechanism to work on reducing the sales tax by reducing the expenses of the government and innovating on the other sources of revenue for the government.
Realistically, this is an incredibly radical change to our system and would be very difficult (not impossible) to pass. Therefore, we should support Fairtax since it has already gained some traction. If there was ever a time that such a radical change could happen, it would be now with Trump as president and the support of Congress.
âArticle I, Section 9, Clause 4: No Capitation, or other direct, Tax shall be laid, unless in Proportion to the Census or enumeration herein before directed to be taken.â
This line has been a battle ground in the Supreme court, but no more! Taxes on our labor (income), and property must go!
Taxes are meant to be placed, with sunset clauses, as funding projects with a goal in mind. US citizen autonomy and the end to citizens reliance on government reroutes of YOUR money must come with the re-establishment of Taxation with Representation.
US production must come in tandem with then end to perma-taxation. Tariffs must be used to protect fairly priced imports for Americans, while a production society filled with locally owned-middle class business must replace the consumerist debt-building one.
Taxes cannot be properly allocated to government expenditures without proper representation, and so too must our Representatives be apportioned per our population.
âArticle I, Section 2, Clause 3: âŚThe Number of Representatives shall not exceed one for every thirty Thousand, but each State shall have at Least one Representative;âŚâ
I believe the words that you are searching for are " Nesara Gesara".
Exempt from this basic needs like a primary home, primary car or truck, food etc⌠If you donât, then a $300,000 home becomes almost $425,000 after tax. This is unworkable. Exempt basic everyday need items and pose this for recreational things like alcohol, tobacco, sporting goods (other than guns and ammo), RVâs, boats, campers, snowmobiles and the like. That might get traction enough to go.
Federal income tax is unconstitutional, it directly contradicts/defies article 1 section 9 of the constitution of the United States of America as does the 16th amendment and it impedes on the 9th amendment. The federal government has enslaved us for 111 years with federal income tax and has spent it on other countries, foreign entities, foreign invaders, and foreign wars ⌠Not us and they already tax us 410 different ways then they put it in the unconstitutional federal reserve thatâs actually not owned by us but by families who donât live here and charge us interest on our money which is also infringing on article 1 section 9 itâs supposed to go to the US TREASURY
Thatâs false, when I was earning minimum wage and independent of my parents I didnât get any help and the REFUND I got was what I overpaid on my taxes, they still kept 10% of everything.
There are a lot of programs to help people but very few people who need it get the help, AND none of that comes from federal income tax all of those programs come from FICA (PAYROLL) tax and STATE taxes ⌠Just came here to say this because you were lied to and federal income tax is unconstitutional
There is already a great bill. TheFairTax. Check in out!!!
Unfortunately, there hasnât been a US Treasury since it was abolished in 1921. It was replaced by the IMF, the banking arm of the United Nations we officially signed into to conclude WW2. Look it up. WW2 started with the bomb on Pearl Harbor Dec 7th, 1941. We were signed into the United Nations on Sep 7, 1945 which took effect 90 days later on Dec 7th, 1945. Four years to the day.
This needs to be on non-essential new items only. if i buy a lawnmower pay tax on it then trade it in on a better lawnmower the person who buys the used one should not pay tax on said lawnmower because the tax has been paid once before. the people should not pay tax on food, clothing, medicine, and shelter
No need to do this. National income tax was passed right after the federal reserve act. End the fed system and get rid of the income tax with it.
Youâre just trying to find the lessor of 2 evils, but there is no need for this. Review Irving Fisherâs Chicago Plan. No one alive today is at his level, we need to learn from the greats and stop listening to mediocre ideas bouncing around today.
Consumption/sales tax is a better option, and the only real option if you expect the mega-wealthy to pay taxes (not income). Only thin I would add as exceptions, locally (US) provided food and possibly even clothes. This makes sure the âLIFEâ part is covered with life, liberty and property that we all should have legitimate access and natural rights to.
Brokers already cover most transaction fees. The feds are getting their cut of that, coming and going.
I understand that a simplification of our tax code might lead to fewer tax professional s however, now they can be income advisors and guide people to make money in the stock market, real estate or other business ventures. Increasing the number of small businesses could also be a great area for tax professionals. I appreciate my accountant and tax advisors who allowed me to focus on my small business instead of the pain of understanding our tax codes and other government reporting requirements.
