Eliminate Super PACs and All Foriegn Money to Campaigns

Ever since Super PACs were created the cost of an election has skyrocketed. All candidates should not have to a Super PAC behind them funneling millions of dollars to a campaign. Foreign money or organizations with ties to foreign money should not be allowed to contribute to a campaign. American election should be for Americans only.

In addition, contributing to a campaign should not be tax deductible and the max contribution for individuals and entities needs to be reduced.

A strong candidate with strong ideas will rise to the top instead of buying their way to the top of the ticket.

If You Can't Vote, You Can't Donate

Campaign donors must be a legally registered voters in the district the ballot is cast. All campaign donations must be local, both for politicians and for ballot initiatives. Since Citizens United was passed by the Supreme Court stating that corporations are people; therefore, corporations can make donations to campaigns…often done through PACs…and the corrupting influence this has had upon elected officials is an abomination. It has essentially eliminated the power of the people…even if we vote, the ‘money’ talks…how hard it is for elected officials to constantly be raising money for the next election from the common populace…its just easier to take the huge donation from the corporate power. Congress should: 1. should make an amendment revoking Citizens United (or have it amended by a Convention of States 2. reform the campaign finance system through the tax system, wherein citizens donate when filing their Federal tax report 3. authorize that each candidate receives an equal amount of campaign money and each candidate has equal and limited access to commercial advertising: t.v, etc. 4. reduce the number of months of the campaign season…most of it eventually becomes propaganda after so long.

I think we should mandate that all money spent for a district campaign can only come from the district. Citizens not registered to vote in a county should not elect county leaders, citizens not registered to vote in a congressional district should not be spending money to influence a congressional race… this should be applied at every level. The citizens of the district need control of who they elect not only by vote but by selecting whose campaign they fund!
