Currently Social Security is in a massive rut. I don’t believe we should be doing away with the system as several people rely on this throughout retirement and unwinding at this point is not possible. One of the easiest fixes is eliminating the cap on these contributions. Today once an employee hits 160K in earnings they no longer pay into social security. Simply eliminating this limit would assist in the projected shortfalls.
