Domestic Violence redefined and reformed

We need reform in the family law sector with protections against ALL forms of abuse. I have been harassed, stalked, emotionally, mentally, financially, psychologically abused and intimidated by my ex-husband and because we share children together, it is deemed a “co-parenting issue” and not domestic violence. Despite security camera footage, parenting apps assigned by the court, witnesses all backing my side. The police cannot enforce a DVRO “until he actually hits you” despite threatening to run me over with his car. We need reform in the marriage and family law arena to protect the abused MORE. Domestic Violence does NOT just include bruises.

I absolutely agree! I’m in an area where my spouses abuse is not recognized because “he is not hitting you”. The police do nothing - they say it’s a “civil issue”. I have so much documentation - audio, video - and have been told by two attorney’s that it won’t necessarily be recognized nor accepted into evidence by a judge. I also want to see affordable housing (LONG TERM) and real healing (C-PTSD) so women and their children can get out easily and stay out.
