@ElonMusk For far too long we have been using tax dollars to support a far left leaning Public broadcasting network. It is not representative of the people of the USA, nor has it been for decades.
Since we are increasing our debt because of deficit spending , do we want to borrow money to pay for arts & entertainment?
This issue really isn’t about PBS being liberal or bad quality (let’s not make that the fight*), it’s about priorities with limited funds.
*There’s no accounting for taste, but there is for cash.
(My concern is to not confront the fans of PBS with a dispute over its content since the fiscal responsibility is harder to argue.)
It has nothing to do with “taste”. A “Public” broadcast system, paid for with citizen tax dollars ought to represent the fabric and tapestry of the country that pays for it. It is not a privately owned and directed station.
The Arts are hardly the issue, as whoever is programming PBS isn’t content with presenting artful or cultural content. It’s liberal- if not radical- ideology and narrative, long known as a haven for leftists constitutes a monopoly. And a liberal (or ANY) monopoly has no place in a taxpayer-funded public media outlet.
Yes, there is already plenty of left-wing narrative out there without it being provided by taxpayer funds. Please defund PBS and NPR. They have no business existing!
