Death Penalty for Pedophiles

If there is undisputable evidence of a pedophile harming a child, posessing child pornography, or simply sharing/thinking disgusting thoughts of children they should be put to death. Even having such thoughts is enough to end their life as time and time again pedophiles show everyday they are incapable of self control. I am fully aware that ending someone’s life over thoughts some people would consider “against the constitution” however pedophilia should be the one exception made in any case.
Child predators should not be allowed to walk this Earth anymore. Too many children and parents live in fear of these creatures everyday. Convicted pedophiles are barely serving any time as it is and upon serving that little sentence they are released back onto the streets where they can do it again. Children are the most innocent human beings on this planet and to harm them is showing how truly evil someone is. They cannot be allowed to live and we certainly should not have to pay for them to live with our tax dollars.

If you remove the innocence from a child by committing a sexual crime against a child, then you’ve ruined that child’s life. As punishment you should no longer get to live. Seems simple to me.

No statue of limitations on crimes against children

Death penalty would never pass; however, chemical castration on the other hand… ABSOLUTELY!!!

Death penalty is the easy way out. Let them linger in prison the rest of their lives. Plenty of punishment happens there for Peds.

I was 16 when i was assaulted. Im now 39. I still have emotional damage from it. No child or woman should have to live lifelong trauma from being assaulted while pedos get slapped on wrist. Death penalty is only guarantee they wont do it to someone else and that child will no they wont be prayed upon again by that same person

Thank you for speaking out on this issue. I’d be interested in hearing comments on your argument from the Muslim community. Their near-deity Mohamud was a pedophile according to their scripture. He married a nine-year-old girl but tried to mitigate his pedophilia but claiming he didn’t consummate the marriage until she was twelve. I suspect you don’t find his argument very persuasive.

My overarching concern about mandatory death penalties for any crime lies in the possibility of trial errors. During 45 years as a litigation lawyer, I’ve seen how flawed the trial process can be. Death is irrevocable (at least since Jesus). The “Oops” factor makes me uncomfortable with auto-death verdicts, but your passion and concern for this issue is fully appreciated. I have two beautiful granddaughters (age 7). My past military training and combat experience forces me to lean in favor of the personal Smith & Wesson solution for anyone who hurts the girls.

You raise a secondary issue. The entire criminal justice system in America is broken … and no one seems interested in fixing it. I call it the “criminal manufacturing process”. The non-jury, plea bargain process is plagued with abuse of power by the State, and it has become a “game” for recidivist offenders. Perhaps more voices like yours will help the new administration to seek real reform of the process … and by the way, the death penalty is not unconstitutional. The broader question is its “morality” and its relative effectiveness as a deterrent against future offenders, who by definition are already mentally defective. I suspect the more powerful concern to any would-be pedophile is the fact that they often become victims of prison inmate revenge once incarcerated. Even criminal hate pedophiles.

Hold onto your passion, Ms. Ireland.

I can not speak on issues from a culture i am not part of or familiar with. However, if child brides and destroying innocence and forcing sex on children is apart of something i want no part of it. No child, man or woman should be forced at any age into sex. It causes long last damage mentally, for future relationships, and sometimes physically

I think the deatb penalty is a hard one to argue, although I don’t have an issue with it, but I would like to see them in jail forever-no possibility of parole. Its insane that financial crimes and non-violent offenders spend more time in jail than most of the true evil people that hurt kids
