Compounding Tirzepatide and Semaglutide

Compounding medication should be allowed for any medication even if the is a patient. Such as issues with semaglutide and tirzepatide. Americans are often overweight and seeking help but they can’t afford it. Majority of insurance plans will mot cober weightloss medication and out of pocket these medications are over $1,000 a month. Compounding pharmacies make it easier for the average American to afford these weight loss medications.

I think Ozempic (Semaglutide) should be banned in the United States! It’s banned in other countries because it has dangerous side effects!!!

Im not sure that is the case. I have found where they banned illegitimate compounded versions of semaglutide. I have also seen when they have banned the export of the drug because they are experiencing shortages. Either way I think prescriptions should be made by doctors, issued through a real pharmacy and minitored by doctors. If something is working and the provider and patient agree, we should allow it. It should be available at affordable prices. All drugs have side effects and your provider should help you decide what is right for you.

Doctors aren’t researchers. Doctors shouldn’t be allowed to prescribe dangerous medications. Doctors receive monetary kickbacks to prescribe certain medications. Many doctors do not have a moral compass. I’m an RN who has worked with many of them for a quarter of a century so I know.
