There is a shortage of child care providers. We need incentives for prople to open snd operate child care centers. Working parents depend on them. They are so important to working parents. Each facility in my area all have waiting lists and parents wait months or even years to find an opening. This hits working parents hard. The work force depends a lot on adequate and available child care. Also tax credit but one designed to assist with the high costs of childcare. Not an across the board tax credit for having a child, im talking about assistance to workers that use and depend on child care. A targeted credit for child care costs. Some parents that get the current child tax credit, dont work or know the burden of high child care costs. These two related child care topics would benefit the child care profession and the parents that need and pay the high costs of child care. So very important, please help.

I regulate child care centers. The problem lies bot in lack of programs, but lack of staff. Some places you have 5 center on one block, but each have maybe 5 kids enrolled because they do not have enough staff to enroll more.

Yes!! The cost of childcare is equal or more than an average Morgage payment. Dual income and single parents both rely on childcare. There needs to be an incentive to become a childcare worker, higher pay or potentially a tax break for these specific positions.

I pay $800 a month on childcare for 1 child and I was on the waiting list for 4 months. Our first daycare shut down with a weeks heads up saying they couldn’t afford to stay open.
