No can do since SCOTUS will strike it down. The Constitution is very clear about the separation of Church and State. This is why we fought Britain for freedom of religion and independence, thus establishing America.
I think it’s a great idea, but since Christianity is but one religion in the US, there would be an uproar.
But hey, if you want a Satan Club at school, that’s been approved! Go figure!
The Founders rejected state religion in the 1st Amendment because a) they knew it would be politicized, as it had been in England; and b) the various Christian sects didn’t trust each other, with each one certain that the other sects were devil worshippers who were all going to hell. Even today, certain fire-breathing Lutherans are certain Catholics are doing Satan’s bidding, just to name one example.
Religious study is a matter for the people, not the government. There are pastors now who are preaching DEI, homosexuality, and other deviant behavior in their churches. That would absolutely be the result in all public schools if you succeeded in your suggestion.
Unconstitutional for one. People who want to learn the bible have the option to go to sunday school, it should not be forced on children. What about the kids who use a “different” bible at home like the Quran or Tanakh? They and their parents won’t appreciate you pushing your christian views on them.
