Thank you for doing this. I’m a Vegetarian Republican for my love for animals. I don’t ask that anyone goes vegan or vegetarian, I use and cook meat for my loved ones. My idea is this: better animal welfare laws. This goes for laws for large companies to follow like, more space for chickens, better slaughter practices that are calm, better environments for the animals, pushing pasture raised. On the daily living side, it’s hard to see so many animals and pets in shelters without a home. Right now for money, tons of people are breeding dogs and they end up being treated badly or end up in shelters because there are so many. French pitbulls and dogs being stolen in LA to breed them and sell. Let’s ban or make it harder to breed so many animals. Let’s make the laws tougher for animal abuse, right now they are pretty lax in different states. Let’s make the laws tougher on dog fighting & neglect. Let’s increase some funding to shelters for move volunteers. Let’s incentivize humans to be able to afford an animal lonely at the shelter. Let’s crack down on landlords not allowing pets. Please, just better animal welfare laws. If you’re interest, we can go further into it with specifics and details.
To add one detail from my experience in Los Angeles: if your neighbor is violating an animal welfare law, e.g. chaining a dog in the yard, there is no way to make an anonymous complaint to Animal Services to have them check it out. You can make a complaint as yourself, but the person violating the law can find out who reported them. Obviously, this can present a danger to the reporter. All jurisdictions should be required to accept anonymous complaints of animal abuse and investigate accordingly.
I agree, but remember, this can be abused the other way too.
Vicious people that, say, disagree with your yard signs, can call Animal Control and make a false, anonymous complaint about your animals, just to wreak havoc.

Yes, just throwing things out there as I write on my little phone quickly. I know there are so many things us Americans and the rest of the world need help with but I would love if we could add a larger task force in government or States that tackle animal abuse and neglect. That we prioritize really having budgets for each city, making shelters better, calmer environments. For example a certain county in CA, their budget came out for their animal/shelter funds (where shelters are completely packed with animals right now) and the whole majority was going towards pathetic items like “uniforms” “miscellaneous office supplies” and very little to volunteers, improving the shelter, having enough items for the shelters. These are shelters you walk into and they have 4 dogs in one little kennel, with piss and poo not cleaned up, and dogs shaking and barking just trying to calm down or get out of there. There should be no reason the majority of the money isn’t going to the animal welfare. That’s also the point with breeding. There is so much breeding going on for money that dogs end up in horrible homes or in a shelter, again where there’s no space. We just need an administration to really care about this and at the very least, toughen up on animal welfare for the animals that have no voice <3

Yes, please look at these accounts I attach on the pictures if interested in a better look at what I’m talking about! The CAWP needs to be mandated into law to hold wrongdoings accountable in wild horse roundups with the deaths and harm occurred! We need to speak up for them. Oh and don’t get me started on the horse slaughter practice too. People have no idea how badly some horses and donkeys are treated and then sent to “auction” to be sent to slaughter in Mexico too. I understand we use items, and people eat animals as well. Fine. But it’s the way they’re treated beforehand that is sick. There should be NO reason a horse or donkey or livestock shows up to auction starved, badly hurt, horribly sick, etc. We need to look into the handlers and owners of those animals beforehand, to not allow it to get to that point. We have to stand up for all animals as they have no voice. There really needs to be an affordable flat rate for spaying and neutering of pets and monies available to assist with those costs too. They’ve made it so cost prohibitive that people are not doing it and the population sick and homeless animals has skyrocketed. Relying on non-profits is not enough, because the need is far too great. Those resources are quickly depleted by the vets that are increasing service prices. It’ s not fair to the animals.
I agree!! This is a huge problem especially with people wanting to help but needing to raise funds. I feel this should be a free or very low cost to keep our animals safe and not continuing to contribute to thousands of stray animals that already need homes
Make a law where all pet stores are required to work with animal shelters and rescue organizations to help rehome stray pets.
Could include a law where stores cannot sell farmed/puppy-kitty mill pets until all shelter pets in their community have found new homes. People wanting show cats and dogs can obtain them from breeders, not pet stores.
Stop and shut down ALL animal lab testing facilities in the United States and territories. Ban and prosecute the company’s and everyone working there that are committing such horrendous acts on animals. That practice is pure evil and must no longer be allowed.
I too am aware of the cruelty to the wild horses. The animal abuse in this country is as bad as any third world country. I am hopefully in line for funding to help with animal projects. From banning kill pens, slaughter, dumping at auctions overworked mistreated horses and intentionally blinding an eye with no accountability because of religious status, selling horses out of country for meat, and my biggest target is the BLM.
I would like to establish sanctuary ranches for these animals. Not only equine but canines as well.
We can do better than what we currently are doing in this country. Animals as such a lifeline for some people … they deserve the best.

Thank you for starting this topic. I was going to create one & so appreciate seeing this one started. I am very sensitive to seeing any living creature suffer because I believe everything here on earth has a purpose. And I’ve seen some clear abuse of animals which has led me to feel a calling to help. I believe there should be an organization for each state, who manages, oversees all animal related rules, laws, regulations. If there’s been one, they haven’t done their job because I don’t know anything about them & we wouldn’t be here talking about this. This organization or company should have body of staff trained to support all of the efforts. Any individual who takes an animal into their home or property should be required training, classes & certification before adopting an animal and a list of laws that protect the animal. I’ve seen so many different cruel acts owners have done to their animals that it seems there is a serious lack of knowledge, compassion or just plain common sense. It’s very painful to watch. Pardon if this is covered somewhere else here. This is my first lengthy reply.
