While former President Trump has made some progress in addressing animal abuse, I believe that stricter measures are necessary to prevent such behavior. This includes tougher legal consequences and higher financial penalties for those found guilty of abusing or neglecting animals, which would serve as a stronger deterrent.
Additionally, backyard breeders—those who breed animals casually as a side business—should face more regulation. Many of these breeders lack the proper knowledge or facilities to care for the animals, contributing to the already significant problem of overpopulation in shelters and on the streets. To address this, I propose strict regulations that require individuals to follow a formal application process to breed animals, ensuring that only qualified and responsible breeders are permitted.
Moreover, implementing taxes or fees on breeding activities would discourage people from breeding animals purely for profit, helping to reduce overpopulation. The funds collected could support spay-and-neuter programs and animal shelters, further addressing the issue of stray animals.
By enforcing stricter penalties and regulating breeding, we can reduce animal overpopulation, improve animal welfare, and ensure that breeding is conducted responsibly and humanely.
Hi Marija, I just found your policy after posting mine. Mine is also about better animal welfare and breeding laws if you could vote for mine too. Sometimes I think… wow how are we living in a world still with so much animal abuse and such little care for animals…? The breeding is out of control. There are so many homeless dogs on the streets in America and so many in shelters. We have to stop allowing so much breeding and we absolutely have to crack down on all animal abuse and neglect. Any abuse should have way harsher punishment. I was in FL for a couple months in Palm Beach County and the amount off stray pets posted daily, dogs found with bite marks all over them (they were used as bait in dog fighting rings), harmed cats. It’s truly disgusting the level of sick people who abuse or neglect animals and we need to be able to hold them accountable. Also in animal welfare in general, if we could push for better large company practice.
On a scale of importance regarding increasingly pressing moral and political issues, from one to ten, this wouldn’t even make it to .01.
Sure, legitimate animal abuse should never be tolerated. HOWEVER, of all things needing immediate attention as of this moment, this doesn’t even come close.
Instead of focusing on claiming our national Article V rights, we’re going to focus on the few degenerates shoving there schlong in a dog’s anus?
They just want attention in the first place, and if they’re able to distract us from the most pressing matters we’re facing right now, then they’ve won.
While there are undoubtedly many important issues in the U.S. that require attention, we have the capacity to address multiple challenges simultaneously. Animal cruelty is a significant concern for many individuals, even if our perspectives differ. Additionally, the language you’ve used comes across as inappropriate and unprofessional, which undermines constructive dialogue. It’s crucial that we approach these discussions with respect and integrity, as these are the qualities that foster positive change in our society. Good morals will hopefully prevail in this country and I suggest you find some.
Haha I don’t use ChatGPT. If you view someone speaking with respect and intelligence as insincere, it might be worth reconsidering the people you choose to be around. Due to my career, I spend most days writing proposal reports and memos so I’ve learned the importance of presenting with professionalism and respect despite the topic. I don’t need to use vulgar language and present myself as uneducated and ignorant to make a point or help you understand. Change in this country won’t happen by sounding unprepared, it comes from presenting ideas clearly and effectively. Using disrespectful language and condescending behavior will only hinder others from respecting or listening to you so good luck with your efforts.
We should also have a ban on anyone who has abused an animal to be unable to adopt or buy any animal and a nationwide list of animal abusers. Just like we have for sex offenders.
