The media is solely to blame for where the country is right now. News media and their commentators have every right to state their opinion on current events and social issues, but they DO NOT have the right to state those OPINIONS as fact or outright LIE to the American people who rely on them for their news. It has caused IMMENSE damage across the board to our country, families, whole communities, etc and needs to come to an end.

Our news media should be telling us facts not opinions. If they tell a lie they should be sued or reissue a statement that they were wrong during primetime.

Journalists take an oath of truth. Requiring them to state that something they are saying is opinion, instead of having the ability to state outright lies and completely made up stories, isnt an infringement on their right to free speech. Name calling isnt called for either.
I think a required banner for any corporate news agency which labels “Opinion Speech” on anything that is not factual and in context would be sufficient and anything reported as fact which can be proven to be false or out of context is heavily fined by the FCC and subject to libel lawsuits more easily.
