Ban Female Genital Mutilation for Religious Reasons

Female Genital Mutilation on minor female children has been allowed by the State Supreme Court of Michigan under "Religious Freedom.” This horrific act violates the rights of minor female children, well before the age of puberty, before they are able to make this decision for themselves. Traditional Muslim parents are allowed to impose this horrific, mutilating surgery on their little girls, which causes them harm, psychologically and emotionally. This is a direct violation of civil and human rights snd should not be legal in this country for any reason. Make this a felony. It is a crime against children. Muslim doctors or other providers should not be allowed to perform this surgery ANYWHERE IN THIS COUNTRY.
