Ban all endocrine disruptors like Teflon from use in anything that comes into contact with our skin or can be ingested (besides cookware it is used in a variety of products even dental floss, and it is used as a water repellent in clothing).
Also ban BPAs in all products. BPAs are everywhere and should be banned not only in baby products but from everything. I’ll let Dr. Boz elucidate more on this topic.
Banning things shouldn’t be the government’s job. If we ask Trump to ban things we don’t like, that will set a precedent for the government to do that in the future, possibly taking away resources we would like to choose.
The government’s role should be to inform and incentivize. We the people should have the freedom to choose informed decisions.
it can’t be that object of everyday use poison people, make them sick, which creates unnecessary suffering and early deaths.
this is even more true when children are concerned.
all materials must be proven to be safe, and industries developping new materials must carry the cost for proving it, while governbent sets standards.
a process with several steps over a long time should be used - in order to check if there are long term effects after weeks, months, years, decades, centuries… personal effects, or intergenerational effects.
The average lay person doesn’t know the details and risks related to forever chemicals and hormone disruptors. It is important for them to be educated but we as a country can and should determine some guidelines and rules with which to live by when creating nonstick cookware and personal care products that are safer for the people. We owe it to ourselves and the people of our nation to have more rigorous guidelines on chemicals and additives that affect our health. Europe has healthier guidelines when it comes to food and chemicals.
