Asylum can only be declared at a US Embassy or Consulate outside of the United States. Court trials will also be conducted at a US Embassy or Consolate outside of the United States, and any immigrant seeking asylum must provide documentation proving they have been granted approval for asylum by a US Embassy or Consolate before being granted entry into the United States. Immigrants can not declare asylum inside the United States and any immigrant without the necessary documentation will be refused entry or deported if found in the United States without going through proper immigration channels.

Immigrants who visit their home country automatically have their asylum request or existing status revoked – if they are truly fleeing persecution, why are they taking vacations back home?
