Allowing Illegals an opportunity to become American citizens

We all most like have met some great people thats crossed illegally. My desire is to keep all good people/ friends / coworker’s who love America and their families; And took the opportunity of our open borders to better there life’s.

They shall :

  1. report them selfs for background check and start the process (within a allotted time)

  2. Community service for breaking the law; crossing the border illegally ( help build wall, repair roads, build housing or join military. Etc…)

I’m sorry but you are wrong. They should go back and start their process from the beginning like anyone else would have to do. They crossed illegally. That does not give them a step in front of someone who has been waiting patiently and legally for years on the outside. It will be difficult but it’s only right.

I’m hoping to take accountability as a nation and letting this happen in the first place. I understand your point of view. Thanks for your feedback. They want the American dream. The people I’m referring to will be great for our community’s. And could help a lot with construction costs ect

As do we all. My children and my grandchildren. But they can’t right now because we’re taking care of so many who have come across our borders illegally as well as the foreign wars. It’s just too much.

We can’t just bulldoze our way through the country kicking everyone out. There are many respectable people who have been here illegally for 10, 20, 30+ years. They have worked, followed our laws, and raised children and grandchildren in our great country. Many of whom have grown up to proudly serve in our military, despite still having illegal parents. I believe that there should be a way to help these people gain legal citizenship. For instance, if you have been here for at least 10 years, and have a traceable record of productive and lawfulness, then you get a 2 year extension to register and complete an online course for citizenship. Classes such as civics, basic finance, conversational English, and other relevant courses. Classes online, exams in person. Make clear guidelines of what qualifies someone to apply and be accepted for the citizenship programs.

You are 1000% right… we are sorting out a lot in our country! I think the things we need to accomplish can happen quicker with them. Imagine the wall being built by community service. Close to no tax dollars.

Melinda, I don’t think that’s the intention at all. Under certain circumstances such as you mentioned there will be exceptions. First is going to be the criminal element. Then the most recent crossers. The ones who were unvetted. (Caught & released). The ones who came in from all over the world who can’t speak our language. The people who never want to learn our culture or to be an American. The young people who were brought over as children will always be welcome and I believe one day they’ll become Americans as well.

Exactly. Some of these were innocents brought in their childhood. They’re as American as you. This is their home. This is all they know. Then you have the citizen’s spouses. How are they gonna deport them? They have children born here. These people have been here for so many years they have adapted your culture. They call this place home. They love and respect this country. These are families that will get divided, torn apart. We speak of being the voice of the innocents in the womb but what about the ones here, in your country when you have the power to do something, to help them. We all need some mercy. God has mercy on us everyday.

Thank for for the reply! I hope we can make it happen.

My only problem with using community service is you’re talking young offenders. That could mean young gang members and you’d never know it just by looking at them. There’s a lot of gang members in those recent crossers. How do you sort them out? I don’t think you can. I think we just go with the contractors as planned and get a well built solid strong wall.

I’m implying having a background check… and if that goes well, they can continue the process. . maybe the military can straighten them out. Hah (I actually go to basic training on 12/30/24!)

But if they do not pass a background check, unfortunately they will have to be sent back. We can’t allow that into our country

I’m hoping and praying. Me, my husband and kids had a talk about this at dinner. Many Latinos gave their vote to Trump, many of those who have illegal immigrant family members. But were even encouraged by these to go vote for Trump. So even the illegals voted for Trump in a way by encouraging family members to do so. They love this country and want what’s best for it.

I believe they call them DACA. I know there’s others who are out there who don’t quite fit into that criteria but they will eventually. I truly believe right now it’s the people who were recently allowed into our country to purposely disrupt our voting system that they are wanting out.

I fully agree. I created this policy to get the conversation started. Knowing it’s going to be a big deal. And there is unclarity as it sits now…
I completely agree with the points you are making. We can’t have government free living people. That’s not good for anyone. Those people could potentially have a stricter sentence and have to payback the money they were given for free … along with community service for crossing illegally.

No. If they loved the USA, they should have started naturalization processes much earlier. The first act in our country cannot be breaking our laws.

I understand what you are saying. As a country we allowed it to happen. With my policy, there would be repercussions for crossing illegally. Community service as a sentence or join the military. This could greatly help the productivity of our country. And our military.

Except the laws that say they can’t enter the country illegally. So… they don’t actually obey our laws.
