Without a mechanism to force accountability, the Pentagon will continue to fail their audit. With defense being a large line item in the federal budget, having a clear record of account (regardless of how mismanaged their funds have been for however many decades) is a crucial step in reigning in the overall expense. I originally created the topic wanting to withhold funding to the entire department however, this could pose an obvious risk to national security so the top officials paychecks along with banning them from travel until it’s completion should be enough pressure to get this done quickly.
