If Trump stepped down at end of his third year and Vance became president, possibly choosing DeSantis as VP, they would be incumbents when running in 2028. Hopefully they would serve two terms. At end of 7th year Vance could step down and DeSantis would run as an incumbent along with whoever he chose as VP. If this continued, everyone after Trump will serve 8 years. Only Trump would “ sacrifice “ one year of his term.
