Voting with a no vote

I have been thinking, on proposals, where we can vote for it, I feel there should also be a way to vote no against it, after so many No votes it gets taken off the table, so there is no more further discussion, some of these discussion can go on until the cows come home and still not accomplish anything

I would like to get the poll features to work. I tried & failed…followed the bot’s instructions. I think being able to say agree or disagree on a 3 to 5 point scale with a neutral in the middle would be great. If anyone figures it out, please post how to do it.

Agree about a thumb down button being needful, however a preponderance of votes against oughtnt be grounds for removal since the submitter could always edit it in such a way as to change people’s minds.

Or concievably, a commenter could add value enough to a post that it might garner enough support to warrant retaining the post which housed it

That’s the point, if people vote no on a post and the person edits it and people like it, that’s no different then a bill not passing, they edit it and send it back through and then it passes, right.

Point taken. By how much ought a failed post fall before its deemed to be incurably deficient?

I am not sure how about 5 no votes then if they edit it and it still receives 5 no votes, then its back to the drawing board for them, we don’t want to wast yo much time on proposals, that don’t get traction

Should those 5 ‘nays’ carry the same weight if counterbalanced by 1000 ‘yays’?

I don’t know I just said some numbers and we can go from there but using what you just said, if it gets 1,000 yes then, it’s worth doing more, there is on proposal, here that ’ says allow people from other countries that live here to run for President", there was a lot of people, saying no, the person that wrote it, keeps pushing for it even with all the person saying no, we can’t be wasting to much time on them, we people don’t want it, there a lot of others proposals that we could be spending that time on.

Noted.

Since you brought it up, you’re aware that Obama’s birth certificate was a forgery, right?

That’s why I said this, so yes I do know that, it never was proven he was a citizen of the United States and should never been allowed to be president, it’s in our Constitution.the same with AOC, I don’t believe she is a citizen and should not be allowed in our government.

People who voted for or against a policy should always be notified when the submitter changes it. I’m not sure about automatically removing policies with too many No votes because, on highly controversial issues, it’s possible to have a lot of both Yes and No votes.

You are not obligated to follow a proposal you think is wrong or useless. If people still want to discuss it, even to explain how wrong it is, why remove it?

I partially agree. However, there are a couple people on this platform just putting no votes and attempting to instigate; not contributing anything of value. So we can’t really take those no votes seriously.

But I agree there are also some policies that don’t seem serious and may just be to get reactions. I don’t think policies should be rated as top policies just because of the amount of activity. Unfortunately, just like in the news they promote fear some policies promote a lot of reaction but aren’t very realistic.

I agree something needs to be done. My concern is a valid policy may be ousted due to instigators and trolls.

Same person keeps going around putting thumbs down on a lot of valid policies. I think the person is an instigator.

One person that I talked to, read my proposal on the engine reservation land yes they put a thumbs down on it, then explain why, as we communicate, I was able to see there point and changed my proposal, to add in there feelings, they then wanted to change there reaction from thumbs down put could not. Now we are not going to make everyone happy but hopefully we can come to a better understanding on these, to accomplish things. Let’s do better then this government is doing right now.

Agree there are valid discussions.

Then there are those who are instigators just playing games.

I think the majority are trying to have real discussions. But there are a couple that are instigating. You can tell by their comments etc.
