Veteran's Benefits denied

My husband’s military service benefits were denied because I make too much money. He served in the US Navy with the promise of benefits. This is outrageous.

That’s not how VA services are supposed to work.

When did he serve? Do you know his Rating? Have you contacted a VA Representative (note: not someone who works at the VA - someone who specifically represents the Veteran in navigating the VA)?

Seek out a Veteran Service Officer(VSO) in your area for assistance. Your State’s Department of Veteran Affairs, VFW, AMVETS or DAV will have a VSO who will be able to assist.

My husband is experiencing the same and also served in the Navy in active duty combat. They deny him every time he tries. The VSOs in our area have not been helpful.

Get a new VSO - typically speaking, the VSO’s are really helpful. You might have a bad batch. If he still has his medical records then it should be a no-brainer.

I know the VA initially denied me TBI saying that it wasn’t service connected, but my VSO read them the riot act and now its covered.
