Policy suggested:
“Pemmican is made from dried meat and fat. It does not require refrigeration for medium to long term usage at room temperature. And it can be used as a field ration for soldiers. Giving them a good source of nutrients while on duty. Investigate and implement solutions using pemmican in US field rations for the defense and other organizations that may benefit from it.”
“Pemmican (also pemican in older sources)[1][2] is a mixture of tallow, dried meat, and sometimes dried berries. A calorie-rich food, it can be used as a key component in prepared meals or eaten raw.”
“…At room temperature, pemmican can generally last anywhere from one to five years,[17] but there are anecdotal stories of pemmican stored in cool cellars being safely consumed after a decade or more.”
