US citizens should be able to recall/fire policymakers --- rule makers who are not elected officials --- i.e. bureaucrats and political appointees

"When you cast a vote for your chosen candidate, you are not only making your voice heard in one of our most cherished civic rituals but also endorsing the fundamental principle of democratic accountability, according to which, government officials are expected to be answerable to the people. Ensuring that the people remain in control of the government was a primary political aim of the Revolutionary generation, and its achievement has been a gift to each generation thereafter.

But in recent decades, Americans’ faith in that accountability has been shaken, justifiably. We’ve seen unelected bureaucrats make decisions and implement policies that undermine the choices of elected representatives, and the problem has gotten worse with time."

Many US citizens took issue with Dr. Fauci and his handling of Covid, the lock-downs, and vaccine enforcement. Unfortunately, “we the people” have no way to hold him accountable beside voting in members of Congress who may (or may not) question him in a Congressional Hearing.

That is only one particular example, but there are many other examples of bureaucrats and appointees who are able to push out policies which in actuality server as laws. These individuals were not elected and the average American is not able to hold them accountable in any reasonable sense.

" Regulators and other government officials routinely make decisions that have significant impacts on citizens, our freedoms and our economy, but we rarely see their faces or learn their names. Research by my colleagues at Pacific Legal Foundation found that more than 70% of rules issued by the Department of Health and Human Services were unconstitutional because the officer responsible for the rule was not property appointed."

“We the people” deserve a way to hold both law-makers and policy-makers accountable. Law-makers (legislators) can be held accountable at the ballot box and many local elected officials can be recalled depending upon the state and locality they serve in. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for bureaucrats and other policy-makers.

The US people deserve a way to recall anyone capable of pushing out polices…or fire them, question them, or at the very least be able to veto or vote down their policies. We should not be subject to rules pushed upon us by people who we neither elected nor have any reasonable way of holding accountable or of overruling.
