An executive order from the incoming president to ban all Woke ideologies from our military services is a great start. However, that will not be enough by itself. These destructive ideological programmings must be countered with real education.
In order to undo the Woke ideological programming forced onto our servicemen and women, I propose that Hillsdale College design a training curriculum about U.S. Civics for our warfighters. So that they will have a greater understanding of the U.S. Constitution that they are sworn to defend and protect.
Civics, as older Americans remember, was about the U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and how those work. This subject is no longer taught in American schools. Many of our current servicemen and women went to school, from K-12, learning about CRT, DEI, and other Woke Marxist propaganda, instead.
The result is that they have developed a low opinion of America, American history, and have little reason to be proud of America. They were taught about America’s low points and none of its high points. This Marxist programming was then reinforced and developed into dangerous ideation with the CRT and DEI training received while in military training.
There are videos and text posts on social media, from U.S. soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines who believe that it will be their duty to put down Americans who support racist Conservative movements, like MAGA and America First because of the Marxist programming in grade K-12 and their Marxist programming in their military training.
This damage must be undone by teaching them about the U.S. Constitution and its history. The more our servicemen and women understand what their rights are as Americans, and how our government is supposed to work, the harder it will be for Far Left Democrats, Marxist talking heads in mainstream media, and others, to deceive them with Leftist propaganda.
It will also be harder for Far Left administrations to try to give unconstitutional and illegal orders. An example of how our military is being turned against American citizens is the DoD directive that authorized the use of deadly force against Americans on American soil. This is clearly illegal, and our generals should have given their thoughts about its illegality. Instead, our generals are preparing plans and training programs for our U.S. forces to conduct exactly such illegal operations.
Hillsdale College has an excellent curriculum on U.S. Civics and U.S. History. I think they are best suited to design this program for undoing the Marxist programming while educating them about U.S. Civics. I think lesson plans must be designed for our servicemen and women in Uniform from the rank of private all the way up to general.
I believe Hillsdale College will be a great partner to lean on for the creation of this education program.
